My Thoughts: Linda Lael Miller is the queen of western romance, whether it’s contemporary or historical. Willow was first published in 1984; this is the expanded version that was re-released in 2010. Willow is the story of a strong-willed young woman torn between love for her outlaw brother and her railroad baron husband who is out to capture him. I absolutely adore this book; it is my all-time favorite western historical. I loved the back story of the posse that killed Willow’s mother and stepfather; the intense passion that developed between Willow and Gideon; and the secondary love stories, especially Steven and Daphne, and Willow’s father and his mistress Dove.
