Hello, everyone and thank you for having me today. Tomorrow is the release of the first western historical romance in my new "Once Upon a Time in the West" series, BEAUTY AND THE BOUNTY HUNTER.

Con artist Alexi Romanov and bounty hunter Cat O'Banyon are a very intriguing couple. I had a fantastic time creating them and learning about them. They are one of my personal favorites for romantic couples. Some others are:

Steve and Ginny-Rosemary Rogers
I was hooked on these books in college, just fascinated with this couple. Of course if I go back and read them books now I'm sure I'd be horrified at the “bodice ripping” nature of the books. At the time romance was new. You couldn’t find very many books that focused on relationships. I think what drew me to Steve and Ginny was the emotion between them. They were crazy about each other—and sometimes just crazy. They loved, they hated, they had sex and they did it all in a BIG way. Screaming, shouting, throwing things. They were so different from everyone I knew, all the characters I'd read.

Jack and Rose-Titanic
This movie was such a “big” movie, and not just because it made gazillion, bazillion dollars. But it was epic and I loved how the story of the star crossed lovers was interwoven with the doomed “unsinkable” ship. Rose was such a different character for her time and I really sympathized with her plight. In the way of other doomed couples, I kept hoping every time I watched the movie that this time the boat wouldn’t sink, or that they’d take turns with the piece of driftwood, or at least find another so Jack wouldn’t die. But maybe they’re so memorable because Jack DID die.

Eve Dallas and Roarke-In Death Series
I loved this series from the beginning, even though I am not a fan of futuristics. But Nora Roberts/JD Robb does such a great job hooking the reader into the characters that the futuristic setting is almost unnoticeable. Sure, there’s a mystery and action and life or death antics, but it’s Eve and Roarke who capture us. I love seeing their relationship grow and shrink, move forward and back, get better, then worse—just like a real relationship. They are both strong, intelligent, stubborn people and they have to learn how to love and live together.

Edward Cullen and Bella-Twilight Series-
I can only speak about the movie, but I totally fell in love with Edward right along with Bella. One of the few times in recent memory where my cynical old heart was tugged into my throat and I found myself choked up and teary at how sweet true love can be. The movie made me remember the first time I fell in love. Edward is both a bad boy, an impossible suitor, and a sweet, lovable young man Bella can’t live without. The dichotomy is her undoing--and mine.

BEAUTY AND THE BOUNTY HUNTER combine aspects of my favorite romantic couples. Alexi and Cat push the boundaries. Cat is a very different heroine from most of those we see in historical romance. The two of them learn to love together and Alexi is a tormented bad boy whom Cat discovers she cannot live without.

Beauty and the Bounty Hunter: Once upon a Time in the West
Cathleen Chase is no killer—but as Cat O’Banyon, she is a ruthless bounty hunter who always gets her man. Catching one lowlife after another, she continues her search for the only man she really cares to locate. The one whose voice she will never forget; the man who murdered her husband. She’ll stop at nothing to find him.

Con artist Alexi Romanov taught Cat every trick she knows.  He is a master of deceit, disguise, and desire. He’s difficult to trust, and even more difficult to resist, but he has news she can’t ignore. The man she’s after has placed a bounty on her head. To get him before he gets her, she’ll have to team up with Alexi again....And just like before, the two of them together are nothing but trouble.
