On the other hand, I despise summer. I hate heat, humidity, and summer storms. Therefore I'm always excited when Christmas in July events start taking shape. So I decided to get in the spirit and create my own Christmas in July Giveaway this year.
I've cleaned 10 books off my bookshelves and divided them into 3 different lots: mystery, historical romance, and Christian fiction. These books are a mixture of hardcovers, paperbacks, and review copies. Just leave a comment with your email address and tell me which lot you want to win. Earn an extra entry by sharing the giveaway on your favorite social media channel...just tell me in a separate comment that you did. (US entries only, ending 7/31/13)
Mystery Lot
Historical Romance Lot
I agree about the summer heat. I would pick the romance books. Thanks for the giveaway.

I'd like the mystery pack please. I love cozy mysteries, and would especially love to win that particular package. I've read a few of the books (borrowed from the NY public library) but would really love to own them.

I'm not entering Melissa, but I completely agree with you. I put up with 25+ summers in Australia and they nearly killed me. I love the mild summer we have in Canada, usually just one or two warmer days and that's it. Bring on winter AND SNOW! :)

I'd kill for the mystery set! (Although I'd be happy with the historicals as well.
ReplyDeleteI am not a fan of the summer. I don't do well in the heat and humidity and thank God for central air! Also, since I've gained weight I prefer bundling my clothes! I love Christmas and always keep my tree up past Epiphany, however, I don't like to start decorating before Thanksgiving. Fall is my favorite time of the year and I like to celebrate Autumn holidays before Christmas.

Love The Holiday Chaos...And VT has been abnormally Hot...Waiting For Fall/Winter. The Mystery Bundle Thanks
ReplyDeleteSusan.... VTCOZY@Yahoo.com Sharing on Twitter
I would like any of the selections -- but my first choice is the mystery. The Christian Fiction would probably be my 2nd choice. But in no way can I say *last* choice for the romance. :)
ReplyDeleteI much prefer the heat of summer over the cold of winter -- cold hurts. But I stay inside most of the time anyway, and the Air Conditioning in the summer almost gets too much too! I wear a sweater almost as much in summer as I do in Spring or Fall. Now I must admit I don't like the humidity!

I do the same thing with my Christmas tree! :) I feel just like you about the heat and then love of Christmas season.
ReplyDeleteI would love the Christian Fiction as a first choice and then historical romance as a second choice. :)

I'm in Minnesota and they say our temp will be in the 60's tomorrow---the heat is gone!! I'd pick the mystery bundle.

I'm not entering. I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your blog, and I agree with you completely about summer. However, when mentioned at work how I can't wait for Labor Day, the Halloween, football, colorful leaves, Thanksgiving and Christmas (and snow) I was met with disbelief. No one there thinks there is any one else in the world who would agree with this. I'm even too hot to cross stitch (my favorite hobby after reading). At least I enjoyed last week when the Hallmark channel ran an entire weekend of Christmas movies. I loved it!
ReplyDeleteThat is a hard choice to pick which lot to win as they all look good. But I am going with the mystery lot. Thank you for the chance to win.

Oh, wow! I would love either the mystery or the Christian set. Make it the...Christian, uh, no, the mystery. Yeah the mystery set. No, wait, the Christian set. Yeah, I think the Christian set.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you on the Christmas thing and the heat and the winter and hate the heat and love the Christmas. Our church had Christmas in July on Sunday and we got to sing Christmas carols and everything. I kept imagining that the church was decorated like at Christmas time. Nice!
