Jackson Galaxy, star of Animal Planet’s ‘My Cat From Hell’ Supports Best Friends Animal Society ‘Save Them All’ Campaign

We're huge fans of Jackson Galaxy and all the wonderful work he does for kitties and are just thrilled to see that he's teaming up with one of our very favorite animal sanctuaries.

And we can't wait for the new season of My Cat From Hell starting tomorrow. Although Truffles will never, ever be a candidate for the show (she's far too perfect!), we'll be watching! Will you?

OK Truff, you can pull your nails out of my thigh now. I typed what you dictated...

LOS ANGELES — Cat behaviorist by day and rock n’ roller by night, author, and star of “My Cat From Hell” on Animal Planet, Jackson Galaxy is the latest celebrity to show his support for national animal welfare organization Best Friends Animal Society’s efforts to end the killing of dogs and cats in our nation’s shelters.

Galaxy joins Danny Trejo, Carrie Ann Inaba, Denise Richards, Nils Lofgren, and other celebrities who are featured in Best Friends’ photo campaign featuring celebrities posed with their personal rescued dogs and/or cats in support of the Save Them All® call to action.

The new season of “My Cat from Hell” premieres at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 26 on Animal Planet. In addition to starring in ‘My Cat From Hell’, Galaxy is the show’s executive producer, author of “Cat Daddy: What the World’s Most Incorrigible Cat Taught Me About Life, Love, and Coming Clean” and the upcoming book, “Catification.” Galaxy also has deep roots in animal welfare. He worked in an animal shelter for almost 10 years and specializes in environmental and behavioral enrichment in a rescue setting. He recently launched a ‘Team Cat Mojo’ campaign to attract those who want to build a community focused on making life better for all animals.

Galaxy said: “With more than 9,000 dogs and cats killed in our nation's shelters each day, we find ourselves at a crossroads, a place where our choices can change things in a profound way. I’m extremely proud to stand side-by-side with Best Friends to help raise awareness about the importance of adopting shelter animals and spaying and neutering to control population. Each time this positive choice is made, not only is a life is saved, but we move one step closer to Saving Them All."

According to national statistics, each day more than 9,000 dogs and cats die in the nation’s shelters. Best Friends has brought increased awareness to how people can get involved in the solution by adopting, and spaying/neutering their pets, donating, volunteering and sharing this message with their friends.

I had the opportunity to meet Jackson Galaxy when he came here on tour for his first book. He's amazing! We just loved his first book and can't wait to read the second. I'm really glad that Best Friends is raising awareness about the euthanasia in animal shelters. I hope that one day this will no longer be necessary; it makes me so very sad for all the dogs and cats who don't get saved in time.

I've never seen this show (we don't have cable), but I'll try to catch in online somewhere. It sounds like Jackson Galaxy and Best Friend Animal Society are doing wonderful things. I am grateful to know there are people and organizations out there working to put a stop to the heartbreaking number of killings every day.

We so wish they all could be saved. We see the photos of those on "death row" and it makes our heads and hearts hurt. WE are glad that there are so many trying so hard.
