Night of the Living Thread by Janet Bolin: Guest Author & Giveaway

Night of the Living Thread

THREADED FOR DISASTER

What happens when you mix craft fair participants, wedding guests, and people dressed up like zombies in a village dedicated to sewing, quilting, machine embroidery, knitting, crocheting, and other textile arts?

And then you throw in a dash of ancient Egyptian curses, an angry young thread distributor, an arrogant thriller author, and a mother of the bride who is not afraid to say what she thinks?

You might get a stunning wedding gown and an even more stunning wedding overskirt. You might get zombies appearing when and where they’re not expected. You might get a trail of glow-in-the-dark embroidery thread that seems to move around on its own.

And you might get murder…

Murder is not new to Threadville, and Willow Vanderling from In Stitches, Threadville’s machine embroidery boutique, has become adept at sniffing out (actually, her two dogs, assisted by a pair of young cats, do most of the sniffing) crucial clues.

Willow and her friends, the other textile arts shop proprietors of Threadville, try to stay out of trouble.

But what can they do when the over-the-top wedding overskirt that they made as a surprise for the bride becomes a murder weapon, and the bride is implicated? They’ll need to snoop, even if their investigation involves attending a haunted graveyard with the overly critical (and alarmingly enthusiastic) mother of the bride.

******************

Blurb: Zombies, killer dresses, and ancient curses prove that Halloween in Threadville can be sew spooky….

It’s early October, and hordes of visitors have descended on the tiny, celebrated village of Threadville, Pennsylvania, to attend a Halloween crafts fair, a zombie retreat, and the wedding of Edna Battersby—dear friend to Willow Vanderling, owner of the chic machine embroidery boutique, In Stitches.

As a friendly prank for Edna’s wedding, Willow and the rest of the Threadville gang have fashioned an overly extravagant hoopskirt, complete with lights and music. But in a bizarre turn of events, the garish gown is implicated in a mysterious lakeside murder.

Now Willow must follow a trail of glow-in-the-dark thread, delve into ancient Egyptian curses, and creep through a haunted graveyard to unearth a killer—before she becomes the next fashion victim….

I love this series. You never know who or what is going to pop up in it. I'd certainly love for this book to pop up in my mail box.

This is one of my favorite series; the characters are wonderful, the town is a hoot and a half, and the furry friends are just some of the best around. Thanks for the chance to win what will definitely be perfect under a shady tree reading. :)
