Thread End Book Tour with Amanda Lee: Truffles Meets Angus! (w/Giveaway)

TRUFFLES MEETS ANGUS

Hi, Truffles. I hope it doesn’t bother you that I’m a dog. It doesn’t bother me that you’re a cat. I like cats. I like just about everybody. I say “just about” because there’s a mean woman who comes in the Seven-Year Stitch—that’s the embroidery shop that belongs to my person Marcy and me—and says hurtful things to Marcy. She’s not kind to me either, but that’s all right. She can be snotty to me, but I put my paw down when someone is mean to Marcy.

But, I’m not here to tell you about that woman. I’m here to tell you about the man Marcy found in the alley behind our shop. See, she and Ted—her boyfriend, my pal, who is the head detective for the Tallulah Falls Police Department—went to some big shindig at the museum. They must’ve served bacon and liver treats because, to hear Marcy talk, everybody in town showed up.

No, Truffles, she didn’t mention whether or not there were any cats there. There could’ve been though. I stayed home. Ted told me I didn’t miss much. So maybe there weren’t any treats there after all.

Anyway, the next morning, we went to the shop like always. It was Saturday, so Marcy took the trash into the alley behind the shop. But she didn’t come back right away. I didn’t get too upset about it until I saw our friend Blake MacKenzie coming back in with her. Actually, I was glad to see Blake at first. He’s fun, and he brings me peanut butter cookies. But then I saw that Marcy was upset. I hate it when Marcy is upset.

You hate when Melissa is upset? That’s good. You’re a good cat. By the way, I understand you were adopted from a shelter. I was rescued from a puppy mill. High paw!

Like I was saying, Marcy was all upset because she’d found a man in the alley. Not Blake but some other guy. This other guy was dead and wrapped in one of the fancy rugs Marcy had gone to see at the museum the night before.

Between you and me, Truffles, this isn’t the first time something like this has happened. I found a dead guy in the storage room right after we moved here. Hopefully, this won’t be as bad as that. But it might be. I just try to be there if I’m needed.

Thread End (Embroidery Mystery Series #7)

Blurb: Embroidery shop owner Marcy Singer is about to have the rug pulled out from under her....

Marcy can’t wait to see the new exhibit at the Tallulah Falls museum on antique tapestries and textiles, including beautiful kilim rugs. But her enthusiasm quickly turns to terror when, the day after the exhibition opens, she discovers a dead body behind her store, the Seven-Year Stitch, wrapped up in a most unusual fashion.

The victim appears to be a visiting art professor in town for the exhibit. Did someone decide to teach the professor a lesson, then attempt to sweep the evidence under the rug? Along with her boyfriend, Detective Ted Nash, Marcy must unravel an intricate tapestry of deception to find a desperate killer.

About the Author: Amanda Lee writes the Embroidery Mystery Series featuring a heroine who recently moved to the Oregon coast to open an embroidery specialty shop. Marcy Singer left her home in San Francisco, along with the humiliation of being left at the altar, in order to move to Tallulah Falls and realize her dream of owning her own shop. She takes along her faithful companion, a one-year-old Irish wolfhound named Angus O’Ruff. She makes many new friends in Tallulah Falls, but she also makes a few enemies. Thankfully, her best friend Sadie MacKenzie and her husband Blake run the coffeehouse right down the street from Marcy’s shop, the Seven-Year Stitch; and Detective Ted Nash always has her back.

Amanda Lee (a/k/a Gayle Trent) lives in Virginia with her family, which includes her own “Angus” who is not an Irish wolfhound but a Great Pyrenees who provides plenty of inspiration for the character of Mr. O’Ruff.
