This is the hardest blog post I've ever had to write.
Just hours after I finished writing my tribute to Tara on the two year anniversary of her passing, Truffles joined her. She had a saddle thrombus, a blood clot at the base of her aorta. Nothing could be done to save her.
It just doesn't seem possible...two years to the day, almost to the hour, that Tara died. I've often wondered which is worse...a long illness or sudden death. Now I know. I just feel like the entire world has stopped.
The next couple of days we'll be running pre-scheduled book reviews. Next week I will continue to pay tribute to my beautiful, precious little angel.

I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. Losing a pet overnight with no warning is awful. I lost my Weenie 2 years ago on Memorial Day when he was bitten by killer bees and it was so difficult to deal with. .

There are no words of comfort sufficient for something like this. I am truly sorry. I know the pain of both a long illness and a sudden death. Without a doubt, a sudden death is much harder. We are so sorry to learn of beautiful Truffles leaving you and your family. Saddle Thrombus is a most awful and shocking thing to happen, heart breaking just doesn't cover it. We lost Oliver to this, and there isn't a day goes by where the ape doesn't remember it. I don't think we are ever prepared to lose one we love so much. I remember so keenly how it felt like a part of my heart was being ripped out when I accepted that Em had passed. At 16 with diabetes, a heart condition and then cancer, it was beyond her time when she finally passed, so there was a small solace of 'she had a good life' but at the time it did not matter.
