Blogging, writing, and working all the time can get stressful quick. Plus when summertime is so short here in Vermont, I really need to learn how to make the most of every single minute!
Despite everything going on, I have learned to take on the phrase: “Summertime and the livin’ is easy.”
Along with relaxing and hanging out, another really important way to get rid of my – well – case of Uptightis is to stop and play! From family cookouts to beach time, this can be done pretty easily. But sometimes I need a little help loosening up. And that is when it really helps to have a feline friend around.
Now you may be wondering… how can cats be so playful if all they ever “seemingly” do is this?
I’m telling you right now, it must be something about those long sleeping hours that make cats the most playful, excited, rambunctious animals I’ve ever seen!
Morris the Cat, spokescat for 9Lives® brand cat food, has been an expert in living well for over 50 years. I’ve loved Morris since I was a little girl and could not be happier that he’s back and better than ever, showing us the importance of play in our lives. His Charmingly Choosy perspective really shows us (and our cats) the importance of taking time to play without distractions.
What helps our cats play more is the same delicious food Morris chows down on. See how ready this cute kitty is to eat?
“Open these now!” those eyes say.
OK, here we go. Dinner is served.

I'd like to tweet in support of a campaign to solidify cats' rights to prowl, unmolested. (If cats aren't safe, humans aren't safe.) (That's in North America, where all wildlife species had been coexisting with tougher predators before humans and domestic cats edged out bobcats and cougars. Cats *should* be indoors in Australia.)
ReplyDeleteI used to love watching the vintage commercials with the big, orange Morris the Cat.
ReplyDeleteMy 3 cats love 9 Lives food. They are 5, 6 and 7 now and all 3 still love to play. We play with them every day. Of course they are indoor cats!
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of bed do you have? I think I would like one
ReplyDeleteLily & Edward
Milita used to love to play with her Neko fly, but not so much anymore. I need to find her a new toy that will motivate her to exercise a bit. :)
ReplyDeleteI devote a part of everyday to playtime. They all love wand toys so that is something that can be fun for all of them.
ReplyDeletePlay is so very under rated in how important it is in a cat's life..

WE love to play with the cat dancer! We run all over the place with that toy.
ReplyDeleteCute photos, kitties do love to play.
ReplyDeletePlay is very important. I always feel guilty when I realized the day has passed with work, dinner, chores, etc and I haven't given Raven the play time she deserves.
