Remembering Truffles, 6 Months Later #ThrowbackThursday

Six months ago today, just after midnight to be exact, Truffles went to the Bridge.

I can hardly believe it's been that long already since thoughts of that horrible night are still so vivid in my mind. Yet those moments were so unforgettable that I fear 10 years from now I'll still remember them as clearly as I do today.

******************************

In looking through pictures that I took last year at this time, I came across some from January 11, 2015 that never got published. I had just come home from the cat show that comes to my area each January (which I'll be attending this weekend). I picked up a little gingerbread man catnip bag for her that she absolutely loved.

Many of her toys that she didn't play with much I've given to Mudpie, but this one is packed away in Truffles' memory box.

  7. Thank you for sharing these photos and memories with us, Melissa. Like you, I still vividly remember the day I lost my Rosie back in May. And, also like you, I have a memory box full of Rosie's favorite toys, blankies, food bowls, etc.

Especially with the help of lovely photos like these, you'll always have your fond memories of Truffles to get you through those times that you miss her most. And of course Mudpie is there to help you as well. Hugs to you!

It certainly does look like Truffles had a ball with that toy! We are sending you comforting purrs and love. I know it is not easy. Please message me if you ever want/need to chat. I'm always here for you.

  13. At 6 months I could scarcely look at Abby's photos. So be proud of yourself for being so strong. It is good memories of your sweet Truffles in those photos. One reason I love photography is that memories are frozen on that image and many times I found that Abby's photos triggered remembering things I had forgotten. I can handle it much better now, but there are times it still overwhelms me.
