There's always country music playing at our house so we were incredibly saddened by the death of Merle Haggard on Wednesday. He passed away on his birthday! There's something especially cruel yet strangely beautiful about that.
Our Caturday Art this week is in black & white in his honor.
Mommy got to see Merle in concert about 15 years ago right here in Burlington. Her favorite song of his is The Fightin' Side of Me and her favorite performance of that song is this duet version with Toby Keith (who she's been lucky enough to see 3 times in concert!)
It was so sad to hear. My momma wuz in da car and saw it on her phone and went and put on Django and Jimmie (Merle and Willie's newest album).
ReplyDeleteThat is such a honourful picture for Merle, Mudpie. You have a gentle heart my furriend! Grandpaw is a huge Country Man, so we are remembering him as well. Extra Soft Pawkisses for the occasion. RIP Mr Merle <3 <3 <3
ReplyDeleteWe were sad too! My human grandad used to listen to him! That's a sweet picture, Mudpie, in his honour!! xox
