You've probably noticed that we typically post our answers for the Friendly Fill-Ins challenge (hosted by 15andmeowing and McGuffy's Reader) on Saturday alongside our Caturday Art entry. This week's fill-ins brought back a lot of memories for Mommy so she decided my artwork needed a vintage feel, and what's more vintage than a portrait done in quill pen? As you can see, the artist is currently drawing in my cute little nose freckles!
2. The oldest item in my refrigerator is Angel Tara's last insulin bottle. I always felt that I should've donated it but it was more than half gone and I just couldn't part with it.
3. My family heritage is French Canadian.
4. My favorite family tradition is spending quality time together decorating, baking and shopping during the Christmas season.

I love love love this art piece, Mudpie! That adorable nose of yours certainly does deserve extra attention. And I just love how heartfelt and profound your fill-ins are, Melissa. What rich history your family has. I always wondered about your French background, given your awesome last name. I know what you mean with your #2. I still have so many of Rosie's old things, including an unopened bottle of her favorite baby food that I have stored in a box with her other goods. I sometimes feel like I'm silly for doing this and I know I can't keep it forever, but I also just can't seem to part with it. Oh, and I love your #4. Is it Christmas yet?!?

Our Mom just got rid of the extra fiber supplement she had for Angel Abby this week. It's been nearly 4 years. She knew it wasn't any good anymore and felt like it was best to let it go. She sure does miss Abby.
I am very glad that your uncles came home. What a blessing. So many didn't. Some of my uncles and grandpas did, a few didn't. I've looked through newspapers from that time frame (as well as during Vietnam) and it always leaves me in tears, just thinking of what those mamas and daddies back then suffered, especially with multiple sons in service. So far, so good with our sons and I hope it stays that way.
I'm sorry for your loss of Angel Tara. :(

Whoa! That's old. TW feels bad cos she had a treasure trove of stuff in the basement of the house from her peeps that they totally forgot about in the excitement of moving. Stuff that would be worth a lot of money.
Beautiful art! I wish I still had my Grampy's old radio from WWII. He still used it when I was a little kid. He was my hero. Hugs.
