That Mommy would give her an earful
She scratched all the chairs
No fabrics were spared
And Mommy is getting quite tearful!
Meows from Mudpie!
Okay, so my limerick written in honor of National Limerick Day is kind of an exaggeration. By now I'm sure you've seen the unsightly piece of cardboard rubber-banded around the recliner in our living room. In spite of my having several cardboard scratchers around the house I'm drawn to that particular spot on that particular chair, and that's how Mommy decided to deal with it. For the most part (ahem) I tend to leave the rest of the furniture alone.
I reminded Mommy that I have a Gotcha Day coming up this summer, and hinted that maybe I'd stop scratching the furniture if she bought me The Cone by WISKI, billed as "the world's most beautiful scratching post and nap space for your cat." We have to agree, it's a gorgeous scratcher, and The Cone's Kickstarter campaign just launched this week!
This isn't a sponsored post (although the links are affiliate links), we just wanted to share this project with you because we think it's an incredibly nice looking piece of cat furniture. You can read all about The Cone and secure one for your very own by visiting here.
Tell them Mudpie sent you!
OMG, my human is in love with the Cone's accent! I do think it is an awesome idea myself, but more for scratching purposes. Maybe even Binga would like him better than the dining room chairs.
ReplyDeleteThough we won't name any names (ahem, little grey and brown tabby girls), there are a couple of kitties in this house who have an affinity for couch corners. That being said, it's no wonder you have your eye on this beautiful scratcher, Mudpie. We can't stop admiring it now!
ReplyDeleteThat looks pretty cool! Much of the furniture in our house has tape on it to deter scratching & hold it together where it's been scratched, so I could totally relate to your limerick :)
ReplyDeleteWow, that is one cool scratcher!
ReplyDeleteOh, Mudpie, you naughty girl. :) (My Hope scratches my chair, too.)
ReplyDeleteI've tried lots of things with Bear. He has a cat tree - but the scratchers are pristine. I'm used A LOT of packing tape to tape over places Bear's ripped up carpet or ripped up furniture - not only does it keep it from getting worse - but I always hope it will discourage him too. When I got a new desk chair, I taped up part of the back and he just moved where he was sinking his claws in. I also tried covering furniture with blankets ... but that turns into a game of ... I'm going to scratch under there just to prove I can!
ReplyDeleteI like the look of that, very stylish.
ReplyDeleteOur Mom LOVES the look of that scratcher and thinks it's a wonderful idea. A bit spendy at the moment, though, even though we INSIST we need one, and PRONTO!
ReplyDeleteOh my!! Our kitty friend would love that thing
ReplyDeleteLily & Edward
That is a nice scratcher. Maybe TW won’t trip and fall over it. Every time we help a Kickstarter, it fails. MOL!
ReplyDeleteWe love our scratchers on the floor and on the cat trees, so TBT is happy and so are we.
ReplyDeleteOh no! But great limerick!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute couple of torbies! Maybe one day I'll build a Cone...
