Last summer was Mudpie's first with me, and I was absolutely stunned by the amount of fur that little girl shed throughout the season! This year I decided to get a leg up on the situation by brushing her daily through the spring as well and so far the fur isn't flying too badly (yet). Her fur feels so much softer and healthier after a good grooming session too, and I love the bonding time it gives us because she really seems to enjoy it.
Over the past few weeks we've had the opportunity to try out the new Eazee Deshedding Tool by Foolee and have been extremely impressed. Here are just 4 reasons why Mudpie and I *both* recommend it without reservation:
Safer & Gentler
Mudpie has dry skin accompanied by a touch of dandruff (which ends up looking more prominent because of her dark fur). At her last vet appointment I was advised to give her good, rigorous brushings to remove the dead skin cells, and while the metal deshedding tools we've been using work great I was worried about hurting her. The accompanying tortie chatter during every grooming session also made me think she might be uncomfortable.
To prevent nicking delicate skin, the comb on the Eazee tool is plastic with smooth, rounded teeth, meaning no sharp edges to scratch you or your pet. When I brush Mudpie now there's not a peep of protest...and as you can see in this second video she was so relaxed she even laid down so I could continue!
More effective
The Eazee deshedding tool is designed to remove 100% dead hair without snagging live, healthy hair. I was surprised to learn that 30% of the hair many metal grooming tools remove is actually live hair!
It comes with two different combs: one for daily grooming of thin or thick hair (you can also adjust the deshedding comb depth for either short or long hair by simply sliding the button) and another for more intense grooming.
Easy to use
The tool is made to fit perfectly in your hand, and to dispose of the collected hair you pull the top button back to eject. (I should note that it's much simpler than my video portrays. It's not easy holding a camera with one hand while brushing with the other!) It's constructed from materials with anti-static properties so the hair will slide off.
The Eazee deshedding tool comes in six vibrant colors, including: red, pink, yellow, green, blue, and purple. Mudpie chose pink to match our blog colors :) It's available at fine pet stores nationwide, and comes with a 100% money-back guarantee!
There's no doubt that this is a tool we'll be using for many years to come, and one lucky winner in the US is going to have an opportunity to try one of their very own this summer! To enter, simply fill out the Rafflecopter below!

This sounds like a really awesome grooming tool - and my human could always use a new one for Boodie! Maybe even Binga (our one grooming holdout) would like it.
ReplyDeleteWe seem to always have fur flying around our house. No matter how much I sweep and mop, you take one step and a you'll have a hairball tumbleweed following you. That being said, I am loving the sound of this grooming tool. I can never seem to find a good comb these days, so I will definitely be checking this one out. Thank you, Mudpie and Melissa!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a great tool.
ReplyDeleteWe use a human brush on the cats, but this certainly seems a better choice!
ReplyDeleteI first heard about Eazee at the BlogPaws Conference this year - when I was complaining about the small bald spot on Bear's back after using the Furminator. I was so excited to get the Furminator this year because last year's shedding season was horrendous - and I was excited to see how much fur it actually picks up. But beyond the bald spot, Bear doesn't purr anymore when I brush him - like he used to do with the slicker brush - which worries me. I'd LOVE to try this one! I love the pictures and videos of Mudpie - what a beautiful sweetheart!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great tool. We need it!!

I have three Treeing Walker Coonhounds and three cats (all rescues), so you can just imagine how much pet fur we get on a regular basis at our house. Summer just increases that, and while I try to brush all my furbabies, I'm still looking for the right brushes for them. Two of the dogs have very short fur, but the third is a mix and has longer, fuller fur (and sheds the most). All three cats are short- to medium-length for their fur, with my old girl, Moko, shedding a bit more than usual due to some medical issues (and she's overgrooming herself yet again, so it means going back to the vet with her). I sweep our hardwood floors multiple times a day with all the fur. I'd love to try this brush.
ReplyDeleteAnnabelle loves to be brushed, in fact all 4 of my cats do, this would be a great tool to have!
ReplyDeleteMudpie, my fur babies would love to try this based on your recommendation! Two have dandruff and refuse to let me brush them. Only one (of five!) likes being brushed for a few minutes at a time. The one advertised at my vet's was the Furminator, and only one tolerates it. We have fur everywhere with these five precious kitties. (yes, I am one cat short of a crazy cat lady!) jeaniedannheim (at) ymail (dot) com
ReplyDeleteYes!!! So much fur from my cats
ReplyDeleteThis would be great for Sammy, he has some dandruff.
ReplyDeleteWe wonder how that would work on our Persian fur!
ReplyDeleteYes and because I have 4 animals it will soon be a snow globe
ReplyDeleteMy cats are short haired and shed like crazy. I would love to try this brush on them.
ReplyDeleteI just adopted what appears to be a Norwegian Forest Cat...I was not prepared for the fur flying! My two short cats look at her like she is crazy with the hair everywhere. I currently use a furminator type product, and I feel the same way...I hope I'm not hurting her!
ReplyDeleteThe fur is definitely flying around here! Paisley isn't a big fan of being brushed. Webster loves it though--anytime we open the box where we keep the brushes, he suddenly appears from wherever he's been napping. I wonder if Paisley would like this tool better than what we currently have.
ReplyDeleteLots of fur here, it looks better than anything I've seen yet and I might even get Inky to let me brush her.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a pawsome tool ! Purrs
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm noticing more fur in the house this summer. This would be perfect for my two kittens, Hamilton and Jefferson.

ReplyDeleteTHat looks like a nice tool ! Kirby has dandruff, too!
ReplyDeleteI love my FURminator! When Pop FURminates me, it doesn't hurt in fact, I love it. You're right that a good grooming is bonding time. Good luck to those who enter.
ReplyDeleteMudpie and Olive really are so similar. She's shedding a lot right now, too. We'd love to give this a try. Thanks for the giveaway!
