Ambivalent #CaturdayArt

Meows from Mudpie!

I was kind of stumped about what to do for my Caturday Art project this week, but settled on a framed cube effect in one of our ipawd apps. I liked how it turned out but wasn't crazy about the black background. I cropped it down and then added a splash of color by applying some fancy corners in PicMonkey.

I don't know, it still kind of feels like it's missing something, but I like the vintage feel. What do you think?

And now our weekly answers (answered by Mommy) for the Friendly Fill-Ins challenge, hosted by 15andmeowing and McGuffy's Reader!

1. As a child, my favorite playground activity was sliding.

2. For breakfast, I have a wheat English muffin with peanut butter, OJ and coffee.

3. An instrument I would like to play is the steel guitar. As a fan of classic country music there's not a more beautiful sound.

4. I always try to set aside what I'm doing and play or cuddle whenever Mudpie wants to, because I regret not doing that with Truffles, thinking we had all the time in the world.

  1. We think your art is beautiful, Mudpie! This here human is a huge fan of vintage, and this is a purrfect example of that. And I love your fill-ins! Sliding was always a fun one. I do remember burning a bit of flesh on hot slides in the sun, though. Your breakfast sounds delicious (of course anything with peanut butter does!). My sister can play guitar, but I myself have never learned to play a stringed instrument. Your answer to #4 is so true. My co-worker just suddenly lost her 5-year-old dog this past week when the poor pup was hit by a car, and she's made some comments like this as well. Thank you for the reminder to always cuddle those furbabies every chance we get!

  2. I think the cube art is nice. I like the black background.

The slide was one of my favorite playground adventures, too. I didn't like it so much when I'd stick to the slide, but when everything worked together properly, it was the best!

It is good to always make time for snuggles and play. I am sorry that you have regrets. We just never know when this time is going to be the last time.

    Have a blessed weekend.

  3. I like it just the way it is! I suppose you could add a few more vintagey things to the background (butterflies to accent the ones in the cube?), but it's also easy to overdo that sort of thing. My favorite part of playing on the slide was trying to climb up the slide part instead of going up the ladder!

  5. Lovely artwork, ladies. I was never a fan of slides. It seemed much ado about nothing to me. I know I was in a minority, though! *wink* Bill loves the steel guitar. It is a standard in classic country music, but uncommon today. Your #4 is wise and I adhere to this, too. No matter how long our furkids are here, it is never long enough. They are loved and missed forever. Hugs.

  6. I love how your cube came out, very pretty. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. Your #4 is sad, but so true. We never know how much time we have with any of our loved ones. XO

  11. We really like your art!

I always stop what I'm doing to cuddle Athena or play with her. She won't let me ignore her anyway!

  12. The steel guitar is great. I like steel drums, too. The steel drums aren't typically country music oriented. But, I have heard them in some country bands. Have a great week.

  14. Your art is very cool. In PS you could have erased that black in one click or turned in any color you would want to. One of TW's old BFs plays in a bluegrass band these days; another one could have taught you steel guitar. He played a mean slide guitar. YouTube Winter Hours-Roadside Flowers

  15. Good answer for #4. All humans are guilty of pushing us away when they think they have more important things to do. We just plop in or Mom's lap uninvited and do not move. We really like your art. The only thing that would make that better is if the cube was spinning, but then you might hork all over the art, and that wouldn't look good. MOL!
