Cue the Violins

Mommy: Now that all our friends are probably ready to call the ASPCA on me, how about I tell the real story?

Mudpie: If you insist.

Mommy: Mudpie's favorite place on earth is the basement. I don't really mind because as I slowly declutter it I enjoy having her with me, but I've refused to put a cat bed down there knowing she'd never want to come upstairs. Last week she managed to find a nap spot on her own thanks to a pile of paper bags I use to collect the recycling each week. It sure doesn't look comfy to me, but she loves it!

Mudpie: Whose version of events do YOU believe?

* obviously we've been watching too many ALF reruns...

  1. MOL, Mudpie! I could tell right away you love being there - it takes one kitty to know one, after all. ;-)

  5. Oh, those bags look super cozy, Mudpie! And this here mom of mine used to watch ALF all the time. But I'm not so sure about him. Doesn't he eat cats? Yikes!

  7. This is hysterical. We're a bit surprised Mudpie let you tell the whole story. Misty May has a passion for our basement. It's a walk out so she can't get in unless she sneaks when the door is opened. Then it is almost impossible to get her out. 12. If it's made of paper or cardboard, a cat will sit on it! Or chew the edges...

  13. My cat Chessie comes running every time I open a closet door. She always tries to get inside the closet to snoop around. Who can understand what cats are really thinking?

  18. Rhette is the same way with the back porch, the hotter it is the more he likes it out there. And he lays on anything, dirty towels, shoes, trash. Mom can't get him to come inside. Love Dolly

  21. Miss Melissa, I think Mudpie is doing her part at recycling by giving those paper baggies a new use. I can understand her attraction to a bed of baggies. I like to lay on them, too! But I would bet she would still want to sleep with her mommy at night time. Hugs to you both! -Valentine (& Mom) of Noir Kitty Mews
