Meows from Mudpie, and Happy Black Friday morning!!!
You're not going shopping today, are you? We're sure not! As a matter of fact as you're reading this Mommy and I are most likely still lounging in our bed nursing a turkey hangover!
Don’t go out and brave the crowds; get cozy in your jammies and start a new tradition by celebrating Black Cat Friday! Here are some suggestions to get you started...
1) Shop online for black cat gear. One of our favorite places to indulge our love for feline style is
Triple T Studios. Their line of handbags, jewelry, accessories and cat toys are certain to make any stylish cat lady drool.
Grab your human's credit cards because everything on their site is 40% off today using the code "VIPCat" at checkout! Here are just a few items that would make the purrfect gift for the cat lover on your shopping list...
2)
Adopt a black cat. Lots of shelters are running reduced adoption fees this weekend on black cats. Some include cats with *any* black fur on them, which would include torties too! Why stand in line for the latest gadget or gizmo? It won't keep you warm during the long winter ahead, but a cat will!
We're rather partial to
Jane, a black kitty who has become quite a favorite at our local shelter thanks to her quirky purrsonality and darling little snaggletooth. She's 10 years old and has been waiting for her forever home since June, but her adoption fee has been fully sponsored and she also comes with a $50 gift card and 6 months worth of food! (She has a secret admirer who recently sent her her very own Chewy Goody Box!) If you're anywhere near the northern Vermont area please consider visiting Jane and making her your one and only!
3)
Avoid the crowds, stay home and read a book that celebrates black cats. We've selected a handful of our favorites, and of course a kitty or two on your lap and a mug of peppermint hot chocolate is required for optimum coziness.

ReplyDeleteYay! I think these are awesome suggestions - more black cats, and less going out to stores today!
ReplyDeleteGreat suggestions! We're licking our lips already!
ReplyDeleteBlack Cat Friday? Now that's more like it! We don't go out to shop on Black Friday. Rather, we stay home and deck the halls for Christmas!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Jane is such a darling!
You won’t find me at the stores, either, Mudpie and Melissa. Your ideas are great!
ReplyDeleteThe Boy and I were at PetSmart last weekend and we couldn't believe the rescue's census of black cats. Nearly every single one of the cats up for adoption was black. I got depressed and stopped counting after 5 or 6. When we adopted Ellie, the lady told us that the people who stop at that store don't pass over black cats at the rate they see overall. I tell myself that maybe that means they figure the black cats have the best chances at that store ... but I think it's just wishful thinking. I never would've guessed I'd adopt a black cat ... until Ellie chose me and I fell in love with her :)
ReplyDeleteThere's no way the mom goes out shopping on Black Friday She much prefers staying home with us and shopping on line.
ReplyDeleteStaying in for black cat friday!!!
ReplyDeleteExcellent post! I love black cats :)
ReplyDeleteThat puurse is SO flippin' cute!
ReplyDeleteBlack Cat Friday - I love it! I'm one who does venture out on Black Friday, but I go mid-morning and it's never that busy.
