Caturday Smorgasbord: Art, Poetry & Fill Ins

(LunaPic's Needlework effect)

Visit more artsy kitties at Athena's Caturday Art blog hop!

And now our weekly answers for the Friendly Fill-Ins challenge, hosted by 15andmeowing and McGuffy's Reader...

Mudpie's answers:

1. I can’t wait to see my Secret Paws open my gift to them.

2. I have had the same cat beds and food dishes for as long as I've lived here. (Maybe it's time for some new stuff, Mommy!)

Mommy's answers:

3. I would not mind if Santa were to bring me a tortie sister for Mudpie.

4. On Christmas Eve, I always take a picture of the tree with all the presents underneath.

Lastly, we decided to try our hand at Angel Sammy and Teddy's Photo Poetry Challenge where each week they give us a photo prompt to write a poem about. I struggle with writing (and reading) poetry so I'm not sure we'll be able to rise to the challenge every week, but the given photo immediately put a funny little idea in my head and I went with it...

Mommy said Mudpie was going to the vet
It was time for a checkup she claimed

She didn't know her cat had other ideas
And swore that someone would be maimed

Unsuspecting she drove down a long, lonely road
Then with a loud pop she swerved to a stop, got out of the car and was pained

To discover that someone had messed with her tires
But Mudpie would never be blamed

WOW! You did have a cool idea for a poem that went with this photo....well done. I totally believe Mudpie had NOTHING to do with those tires......(tee hee). Thanks for joining in the fun - hope to see you again with a poem for NEXT Thursday's photo!

Love, Teddy

You are a beautiful and festive masterpiece, Mudpie! And we love your fill-ins, as always. We completely agree with your #1 and can't wait to see our Secret Paws open their gifts. We also can't wait to open the gifts our Secret Paws sent us, which we'll be doing today! Your #3 sounds purrfect. Double the tortitude! We are so happy to see you participating in the poetic challenge, and your poem is fantastic! Have a festive Caturday, Mudpie and Melissa!

Mudpie is there a new tortie maybe coming to your house next year? Are you getting a new brother or sister? You sure do look festive and lovely today.

Mudpie, you look beautiful in needlework! Wouldn’t it be fun if you got a little sister for Christmas? Except I think your mommy said once that you don’t get along so well with other cats!
