Cat and Dog Cozy Mystery Tour (plus GIVEAWAY)

Happy Monday from the cat and dog cozy mystery series authors! Melissa and Mudpie have been so gracious to host us today, and thank you to everyone who is stopping by to join us. Mudpie insisted we give the animals a chance to speak, so today we're letting the starring dogs and cats in our series answer the question "How would you describe your human?"

Charli the Siamese, head cat in Claire Kane's Siamese Sleuth Mystery series: My roommate Harlow is considerate and sweet while fearless and business-minded. We're both glamorous and enjoy good food. We connect as best friends because she can often sense how I'm feeling and vice versa.

Tilly the golden retriever, head dog in Kathi Daley's Tess and Tilly Cozy Mystery series: Tess is a kind hearted person who is always willing to put herself out there for the people and animals who migrate in and out of her life. She is a happy and outgoing woman who takes the time to stop and chat with the people she comes into contact with on a daily basis. More so than most, Tess has a willingness to take action to right a wrong or help a person or animal in need.

Snickerdoodle the corgi, head dog in Meredith Potts's Daley Buzz series: Sabrina is the best. Not only does she make the world a better place by solving murders, but she always carves out plenty of time to play with me. Plus, she has the most comfortable lap in the world to curl up on.

Gus the golden retriever, head dog in Tammy L. Grace's Cooper Harrington Detective novels: Coop is a great guy. He's got a few quirks, but I love him. He's hard-working and kind. He's persistent and determined when it comes to solving our cases...sort of like a dog with a bone (woof!). He takes great care of Aunt Camille and me. I think Annabelle is the perfect match for him, but he seems oblivious. Coop's the best human I could wish for and I'm happy he's mine.

Dizzy the Labrador hound mix, head dog in Sandi Scott's Seagrass Sweets Cozy Mysteries: She's a lot calmer on the outside than she feels on the inside and I know her well enough to know that the nervous, geeky girl bakes away her anxiety. She's smart and loving and loves being my co-sleuth. She loves giving me jobs of big responsibility, even when I don't think I can handle it myself.

Matty the tortoiseshell, head cat in Paige Sleuth's Cozy Cat Caper Mystery series: Kat's okay, as far as humans go. She took me in when my former human was murdered, which was really nice of her. And she's usually pretty good about feeding me on time, cleaning out my box, and taking me for walks around the neighborhood. She does seem to have a nose for trouble though. I mean, how many dead bodies can one person find? But I have to say, Kat's almost as good at finding killers as she is about finding bodies. I guess if you're going to be murdered, you want Kat to be the first one on the scene!

Meaux the Schnauzer, head dog in Colleen Mooney's New Orleans Go Cup Chronicles: My human never met a Schnauzer she didn't like, and it's a good thing because that's how I came to be in her life. She rescued me and I never was adopted out. We became BFFs and that was that. She's rescued plenty of other Schnauzers and some stay awhile and others get homes right away. Sometimes I have to help the new ones that stay awhile learn how to behave or show them how to be a fun loving dog again. She buys me lots of toys and I get to show the rescued guys how to play with them.

Paw the Saint Bernard, head dog in Sandra Baublitz's Dog Detective series: The best! Woof! Clarissa is loving, kind, and considerate. She loves a good mystery. I love that she takes me everywhere with her. She supports and helps her friends, braving criminals and murderers to solve crimes. She's short for a human, but smart and most of all, she is good to animals, especially me.

Hamish the Maine Coon, head cat in Alannah Rogers's Beatrice Young Cozy Cat Mysteries: I'm Hamish, Beatrice's first and #1 cat. Bee is quirky, stubborn, crazy, and loves getting in trouble. She thinks because she's in her sixties she can do whatever she wants, including chasing Bad Guys with guns and other bad things. But, she is also loving, loyal, and kind. We go everywhere together. I was not too impressed when she moved in her friend, Matthew, who apparently she is going to marry or something like that. I'm not used to sharing my human. But I guess he's okay because he protects her and stops her from doing anything too dangerous!

Biscuit the ginger tabby, head cat in Alison Golden's Reverend Annabelle Dixon Cozy Mystery series: She's a bit wacky, always rushing about which is not my thing at all. But I do like her, not that I show it of course. She can be a bit overpowering at times, and I like to chill. But I suppose we make a good pair. I've helped her with a couple of cases. I don't think she'd have solved them without me, put it that way.

Reader animals, now it's your turn to describe your humans (or if you're a reader human, describe your animal(s))!

This post is so much fun, and I really enjoyed getting to know the books' characters through the eyes of their furry friends. 13. I have two handsome male cats. Hamilton is a tabby who is into everything. He is such a friendly cat and likes to answer the door before I get there. The other guy is Jefferson, he is a ginger tabby. He is a big guy and very shy. He will hide whenever someone comes over. But he is a really loving boy with a very loud purr. They make me smile every day.

Molly doesn't like anyone but us, but she is a sweetheart if she trusts you. And Sandra, Amber is the name of the ginger cat in my new series! I actually fostered a real-life Amber for a while, which is the cat the one in the book is based off of. --Marla (aka Paige Sleuth)

    3. I love that Marla. I have to confess my Amber was a boy. Everybody asked me why we gave him a girl's name. But Jurassic Park was popular when he was born and his fur color reminded me of the color of the Amber stone.

My cat's a beautiful green eyed Tuxedo named Spot (loyal to a fault) and my girl Gin Gin a wild and equally loving gray Tabby (named after I Dream Of Jeannie's dog Djinn Djinn that went wild when he saw a uniform) would say I am just a big old softy!! They are both strays that arrived at the perfect time in my life after losing a cat and dog in one year and then my other dog the following. I was blessed to have them all for a long time. Gin Gin came after Spot was all alone to keep him company.God is good!!

  24. Isn't it wonderful how our pets see the best in us humans?

My cats response is: She means well, but she never quite understands EXACTLY what we are trying to tell her. That's not always bad, because it often means extra treats and cuddles.

Susy is a beautiful, smart Yellow Lab/Great Dane cross. She has the bose of a blood hound and is worth her weight in gold. Approximately 6-7 weeks ago, I stopped breathing and Susy did as trained, she got help! 28. Ginger here. I am the newest member of the Robinson pack so I am still learning the ropes. Mom is really cool and likes to snuggle with me. I have had lots of changes in my life lately so I need lots of snuggling. I used to live on a chain and ate bread but a nice lady took me for a loooong car ride. I really liked her and I liked her cats- a little too much. So she found me a new home and I took another looong car ride to meet Mom. She sat in the back seat and snuggled me all the way home. She even let me have her quarter pounder. Well, okay, so I snatched it out of her hand. She is taking me to some scary classes now so I can learn manners. But I love her anyway.
