Meows from Mudpie!
Yesterday was Grandparents Day, and appropriately the theme of the Mewsic Moves Me blog hop this week is songs about grandparents and/or growing older.
As you can see in these photos, I'm especially close to both my grandma and my grandpa. They both adore me (naturally) and I feel the same way about them!
I asked Mommy to help me pick out some songs to fit the theme...here's what she came up with!
*************************************************
Life's too short no matter how long it lasts.
You Are To Me, from Conway's final album, makes me tear up every time I hear it.
It's the story of an overheard conversation between an elderly couple as they lament getting older.
It's incredibly beautiful, and delivered as only he can.
A few more...
We are not surprised that your grandparents love you :)
ReplyDeleteGood choice of songs .

Melissa,
ReplyDelete"Life's Too Short" is such a tender song but I enjoyed all of your song selections. I find every year that passes that getting old get bumped farther out. When I was in my 20s, 50 seemed old. Now that I've been apart of that community for some time I don't think 70 or 80 is old anymore. I pray that I don't fall victim to signs of aging. I know I'll fight it every step of the way and hopefully God will decide to take me quietly in my sleep instead of letting me whiter with the years. I hope when I'm 110 people are going, "WOW, she's how old?" because they think I'm younger than I am for my years. :) I guess we all have a wish like that, though. Thanks for sharing the dance floor with the 4M gang today, my friend. Have a pAwesome week!
AW, you're getting lotsa love, Mudpie. Love your song choices. That's a really young Garth Brooks!
ReplyDeleteSweet photos. You’re a much-loved kitty, Mudpie.
ReplyDeleteThere may not be a better lyric about aging that the Conway Twitty song, "Life's Too Short" and now that I am north of 70 I am certainly too old to die young in this world. Have a blessed week.
ReplyDeleteGreat songs but even better pics. Thanks for sharing them.
ReplyDeleteOh, these photos of you and your grandma and grandpa are priceless, Mudpie! We think your mom helped you picked out purrfect songs to honor them. Purrs!
ReplyDeleteMudpie, you must of made their day for Grandparents Day. These photos of you with grandma and grandpa are the best. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Thanks for sharing the gorgeous photos and lovely songs.
ReplyDeleteWorld of Animals
excellent selection! I love that you included Conway Twitty :)
ReplyDeleteOh, this is so adorable! Happy Grandparents Day to your biggest fans!
ReplyDeleteGreat choices. I love Garth :) Very sweet photos of Mudpie with her grandparents. XO
ReplyDeleteI have long been a Judds fan, and that is a classic song that I hope never goes out of style.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet your biggest fans are your grandparents! We bet you have them wrapped around your little tortie finger!
ReplyDeleteWe are sort of used to classical music here.
ReplyDeleteMy grand parents are both at the Rainbow Bridge. A great song you should listen to be prolly won't although it's a little bit country is John Prine's "Hello in There." You can Google the lyrics.
ReplyDeleteYou have so many great humans who you can cuddle with!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I think Conway's voice was the best, I think I liked the words of the Garth Brooks song the best. I agree - I am much too young to feel this old! Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
