The topic of this week's Mewsic Moves Me blog hop is songs with hand claps or finger snaps. The song that immediately came to mind is Heartache Tonight, but did I choose the original version by The Eagles? Of course not! If Conway covered a song, no other version exists as far as I'm concerned, and he brought Heartache Tonight to #6 on the country charts in the fall of 1983, the second single from his Lost in the Feeling album...

Oooh, I loved all of these selections this week....I forgot all about Thank God I'm A Country Boy and I Love A Rainy Night. Happy Music Monday-ing!

Melissa,
I'm always surprised by Conway's talent. He did an excellent job covering "Heartache" tonight. The volume was horrible on this video so I found a studio recording which was much better for my ears. I'm so glad you used this song choice. We totally matched with "King of the Road". I wonder if anyone else will think of it. :) Thanks for hitting the dance floor with the 4M gang, my friend. Have paw-clapping time!
Great selections. Most of us are familiar with The Eagles arrangement of Heartache Tonight but the Conway Twitty video is something special. Thanks for sharing these with us. Have a blessed week.
Well, this got us clapping and tapping our paws early this morning. Great selections.
We're clapping right along with those adorable paws of yours, Mudpie!
Great choices! I almost went with I Love A Rainy Night :)
Very great choices. Loved all of these classics. Thanks for sharing them.
i have not thought of eddie Rabbitt for so long! Thanks for the memories!
"Life ain't nuthin' but a funny, funny riddle!"
Second that on Eddie Rabbitt - it's been a hundred years since I heard one of his songs - thanks for bringing that rainy night foot tapper to mind!
I didn't know Conway Twitty did that song? WOW Learn something new every day! Gotta keep it movin' still healing so I don't get too much sit time on the ol' back. Have a rockin' week. GREAT JOB!
These are all wonderful selections. We love the Conway Twitty one the best. He was such a good singer. We hope Mudpie is clapping those paws together. Thanks for the share. Have a great rest of your week.

I agree about the sound quality, but I must admit that I always prefer live video on YouTube to studio recordings so I can *see* him too ;)
We pick "King of the Road." Did you know Jody Miller had an answer song complete with finger snaps? "Queen of the House" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_A8Gd5YhZM
Hi Melissa,
Great picks...and great minds: we had two in common. You included my favorite for finger snaps: King of the Road. That is such a classic! And Eddie Rabbitt: Oh man, I love that song! I listened to it all over again, I like it that much.
I am so excited that you included John Denver's "Thank God I'm a Country Boy"! I love John Denver and I never even gave that song a thought! Way to go!
I also like Conway Twitty (especially when he teams up with Loretta). I had no idea he covered Heartache Tonight.
Thanks for playing along with my theme. I hope you enjoyed it.

Mom says she hasn't heard 'I Love a Rainy Night' in a very long time and it brings back happy childhood memories. She remembers riding in the family station wagon to the community swimming pool with friends and the song playing on the car radio. She thanks you for having it on your list! Definitely paw-clapping good!
All great clapping songs, but my favorite, if I had to pick, is "Thank God I'm a Country Boy". That really gets me to dancing! Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
Great selections! I Love A Rainy Night is my favorite on your list! :) Thanks for the dance!
