Our Nightmare Before Christmas

Meows from Mudpie!

'Twas 2 weeks before Christmas, and all is not merry at our house.

It all started last Thursday when the oil tank in our basement had to be inspected prior to heating oil delivery, and it failed. (It's been down there since the house was built 67 years ago - go figure!) Mommy is planning to convert us over to gas heat, but I'm fully expecting to become a frozen Mudpie before long.

Then the On Demand feature on our cable box died (the main way we keep up on our shows), meaning Mommy is going to have to deal with the dreaded Comcast about replacing the box.

Last but not least, the toaster oven died. Mommy uses it just about every night for dinner instead of firing up the big oven, so she went to Amazon and ordered a new one instead of searching the stores. It came on Monday and I got this pawsome box in the deal, but the one she ordered is too small and she's sending it back. (Which means she's still going to need to go out among the Christmas shoppers to find the right size.)

Well guess what, Mommy?

I'm. Not. Leaving.

Wherever this box goes, I go, and I suggest you do the same because this place is jinxed! Does anyone wanna adopt us while our house falls apart?

  1. We don't blame toy Mudpie, that is a pawsome box!
You also have the same flooring as we do in our kitchen ;)
Our oil tank is outside and comes with an expiry date, usually
around 10-15 years then they must be replaced.
Mum also loves her toaster oven .

  4. Ugh. When it rains it pours. The mom says the coffee pot here stopped working. And you don't wanna know what the mom is like when there's no coffee.

  8. When it rains, it pours, doesn't it? This is just not fair treatment around Christmastime. But, at least you got a box out of it, Mudpie! Purrs and prayers that all of this can get sorted out!

  10. Mom says things seem to want to break down in threes, so I think you are safe now, 'cause the quota has been met! Tee hee hee. At my house, the vacuum went on the fritz and the starter went out in Dad's old car. Hmm... I can't think of a 3rd thing... Uh oh! Yikes! Tee hee hee. Kisses. -Valentine (& Kerry) of Noir Kitty Mews

  17. Sorry you're going through this MP. That's why the peeps sold their house but now everything is starting to go in the condo. At least we're not being investigated so it could be worse.
