Putting My Paw Down #MewsicMovesMe

Meows from Mudpie!

The theme of this week's Mewsic Moves Me blog hop is songs with body parts in the title. I'm going to let Mommy take over in a minute, but I wanted to let you know that I had to put my paw down on this one. It's no secret that Mommy's beloved Conway was known for some pretty steamy songs, so I made sure to remind her that we needed to keep the songs PG-rated at the very most. I'm not a huge fan of her music so let me know in the comments how she did.

The dance floor is all yours, Mommy!

Thanks, Mudpie! PG-13 might be the best I can do with Conway...

Slow Hand is such a classic. I've always thought this particular performance was so interesting because one of the things everyone who knew Conway said about him was that he was a true southern gentleman, so I have a feeling filming this must've been quite uncomfortable for him. (As frequently as he was on Hee Haw he always refused to do skits with the "Hee Haw Honeys.") At this point he was finally doing more TV appearances than he had in the early years so the show was probably his record company's idea, and he actually went on to do Solid Gold many times.

Lots of body parts flying around in this video!

#1 hit from 1975...

And I chose these two songs about eyes just because I love them both...

Do you think I followed Mudpie's instructions?

How great is a Conway Twitty concert and he is introduced by the Righteous Brothers in the first video. Thanks for a great music set. Have a blessed week.

Melissa,

I know some oldies were quite steamy. I can't recall a lot Conway's stuff right off but I do remember 'Slow Hand' which is beautifully seductive without being too over the top. All of your other features are introductions, so many thanks for the share and tell Mudpie you did a good job! It's hard to keep things at a PG rating with some songs for sure and when I happen to share those I try to issue a warning beforehand. lol Thanks for joining the 4M crew on the dance floor. Have a boogietastic week, my friend!

That first one was a little risque if you ax me. When an artist becomes famous or popular, they have to do all sorts to crappola they don't want to. REM was forces to lip sync in their videos and Replacements were forces to make videos.

Miss Mudpie, good job keeping your mommy in line. I used to love Solid Gold and wanted to be a dancer on there. :)

Hi Melissa,
Mudpie will be proud! I liked all the Conway songs, especially the first one, Slow Hand. I wasn't familiar with the last group or song but I enjoyed.
Thanks for doing a great job with the theme...and managing to get three Conway songs in the theme too!
Have a great week,

Michele at Angels Bark

Conway's version of "Slow Hand" is better than The Pointer Sisters'. He has a perfect voice for it.

At least PG-13 is better than R, Mudpie. Your mom did a great job!

Mudpie, we think your mom did pretty good with your instructions. If there's a song on here you don't agree with, will you let it slide in exchange for a few extra treats?

Well, I know the Pointer Sisters version of Slow Hand and I have to say, when those women started circling Conway Twitty I was thinking "what the....?" He does have a good voice. As for the Forester Sisters good harmony - I thought "this song isn't going to end well" but the song just kind of faded away. Never did find out what happened in the end!
