It's a freebie week in the Mewsic Moves Me blop hop and we decided to build a playlist around songs with the word "candy" in the title in honor of National Candy Day, which is today. Hope your sweet tooth is ready!
You probably think I choose topics with a Conway song already in mind.
You wouldn't be wrong.
As soon as the calendar turns to November it's officially the Christmas season at our house.
This is one of my favorite Christmas songs from The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas soundtrack.
Do you have a favorite candy song? Or a favorite candy?

Now I am craving something sweet.
So very classic songs. Very nice.
What a post sweet as candy
Oooh, I've always liked Hard Candy Christmas!
Melissa,
Great theme! I wish I had thought of this but I went a different direction. You put together some great old songs for your playset, too. I know all of them and some of them I haven't heard in a while so thanks for refreshing my memory with such a fun set of songs. Have a boogietastic week, my dear! ;)
Great theme and nice choices. I knew you would have at least one of Conway's songs :)
You don't usually think of Carl Perkins as a country artist, but he does a good job with straight country. I've heard him do country once before, on the album he did with NRBQ in the '60's, and was suitably impressed then.
Great playlist!
The Candy Man by Sammy Davis Jr. comes to mind here.
I Want Candy although we like Bow Wow Wow's version more than the original by the Strangeloves. Michael Stipe joined in with 10,000 Maniacs on the song Candy Everyone Wants. They sung it at Bill Clinton's inauguration. Whoa! You coulda knocked us over with the Four Seasons.
No my teeth hurt from "eating" so much candy!
Most of these are new to me (I think).
Hey you sweet Candy girl, we loved your choises, it was a long time ago since we heard of Frankie Valli😸Pawkisses for a Happy Tuesday🐾😽💞
Such purrfect song choices for the season! You know, I'm ready for Christmas, but I also can't bring myself to put away my Halloween decor just yet. My indecision between the two holidays has led me to start watching The Nightmare Before Christmas on repeat.
