November Retro Country Rewind #MewsicMovesMe

Earlier this year we premiered our new mewsic feature "Retro Country Rewind," a look back at favorite songs that hit #1 during that month from 30, 35, 40 plus years ago. We were so happy that you guys seemed to enjoy it! Now let's take a look at November for this freebie week in the Mewsic Moves Me blog hop...

50 Years Ago - 1969, To See An Angel Cry, Conway Twitty

This song was Conway's 3rd (of 55) #1 record on the country charts. His next #1 would be Hello Darlin' in June 1970...the song that catapulted him to superstardom.

45 Years Ago - 1974, Back Home Again, John Denver

40 Years Ago - 1979, You Decorated My Life, Kenny Rogers

35 Years Ago - 1984, I've Been Around Enough to Know, John Schneider

And lastly, in honor of Veterans Day...

We hope you enjoy our choices this week!
Do you have a favorite?

  1. Melissa & Mudpie,

I enjoyed your mewsic today. I, especially like Kenny Rogers' 'You Decorated My Life". It came out the year we got married. DH decorates my life. :) What a beautiful song! Thanks for remembering our veterans today in song. Toby Keith is a great choice. :) Have a boogietastic week, my furriends!

  6. Melissa & Mudpie: Did you know my youngest child's name is Melissa? I call her Missy Anne. She was a preemie 3 lbs. 2 oz. love her to pieces, but she's a Mom now with a 10 yr. old boy.. he's too cute blonde Hair blue eyes & a little on the chubby side, but I'm not supposed to say that. shhhhh Anyway, love this tune (1st). I love everything Kenny Rodgers ever did. It breaks my heart to see how old he's getting, but he's still got it & dam he's still handsome to me. You picked one of his greats, to say the least. John Schneider, love the song, but wasn't he on some sitcom show... can't remember which one...? Now, who doesn't L-O-V-E American Soldier! Great pick my friend, GREAT PICK!
