Holy Cod, our Halloween night was absolutely crazy!!! A freak storm passed through and we ended up with nearly 4 inches of rain...a record breaker for our area. Needless to say, our leak prone basement might be dry again by Christmas. We've never had so much water seep in. Mommy even tried to use the wet vac for the first time but couldn't get it to work right and finally had to admit defeat. The sump pump ran every 10 minutes all night long and even now it goes off every half hour or so.
We didn't go to bed until 3 AM because the wind was so bad Mommy feared we'd lose power. We didn't (thank Cod) but our Internet went out for awhile on Friday so she couldn't work from home as she'd planned. The whole thing sure put a damper (HA!) on our Halloween, but made it a very memorable one.

Mommy's answers:
1. I never read science fiction or fantasy.
2. I mainly read anything that predominantly features cats.
Mudpie's answers:
3. The beginning of a new month is just like any other day for a kitty.
4. Catnip makes me feel silly. I got some pawsome new toys for Halloween (we'll tell you about them next week) and let's just say I overindulged!
Wow, you guys had crazy weather!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're okay! We had a slightly less strong version of your weather move through here on Halloween night, thankfully, not problems, but it was a bit harrowing to be under a tornado watch all night long!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds awful. We only got a little over an inch of rain, but lost power for 8 hours. I guess that is better than a wet basement.
ReplyDeleteThank you both for these great fill-in answers. I can't wait to see what you got for Halloween Miss Mudpie. XO
Dang, I'm glad you're okay and I know that was pretty scary for you both. Pretty art sweet Mudpie!
ReplyDeleteHoley moley, that must have been some weather, Mudpie, glad it is over now😸Pawkisses for a Happy Weekend🐾😽💞
ReplyDeleteLovely art, Mudpie, and appropriate for the weather.
ReplyDeleteWe are getting the same today, a deluge of rain with widespread trees down and flooding. Thankfully we haven't lost power....yet.
We are just glad you stayed dry Miss Mudpie and also that everything else in your home (upstairs at least) stayed dry too! No more Halloween storms!
ReplyDeleteMust have been very scary! We're glad you're OK. Great art :)
ReplyDeleteYikes! That was a Halloween we bet you never have again!
ReplyDeleteAnd we thought WE had lots of rain here. We are glad you are okay, Mudpie and Mommy Melissa!
ReplyDeleteWe're glad that you are OK after your crazy weather. Your raindrop art is very cute!
ReplyDeletePurrrrrrrrrrrs,Spike William
Mudpie, even though you and your momma had to deal with all that water, you took on the challenge and still were able to put together a furrtastic artwork! Kisses.
ReplyDeleteRain on Halloween? Yuck! It's strange, though, that we got snow on Halloween while you got rain. That seems a bit backwards. The kids in our neighborhood trudged through 2 inches of snow to get their candy, but we still had lots of kiddos stop by nonetheless. And your fill-ins are purrfect! One of the very rare ways in which we differ is that I actually love reading fantasy, but I definitely got that from my dad. Like you, though, I will always gravitate towards books that have kitty characters. Mudpie, we're so happy you enjoyed some new catnip toys for Halloween! :) We hope you got good a nipped out!
ReplyDeleteStay safe sweet Mudpie and Mom! Sounds like a horror of a Halloween! Why doesn't anyone read SciFi? There are some really good ones out there.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, I guess that did pout a damper on your Halloween! We could certainly use some of that rain out here.
ReplyDeleteEek! We had some snow too but doesn't sound like it was as bad as where you are.
ReplyDeleteThat's such a coolio photo of you, Mudpie...the one with the water droplets!
