Torties in Toyland #MewsicMovesMe

Meows from Mudpie!

My good friend CK at Stunning Keisha has selected the prompt for the Mewsic Moves Me blog hop once again this week, and she chose a topic near and dear to my heart...in honor of Black Friday and the holiday shopping season, songs about toys (people or animal toys).

I'm a tortie who loves to have fun, and given the choice between playing and eating, give me a good toy any day!

I have the honors of selecting our first toy-themed tune, the classic Chipmunks Christmas Song. Mommy asked me to relay a fun bit of trivia she found...in November 1958 Conway's It's Only Make Believe was #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks, followed by To Know Him Is To Love Him by The Teddy Bears, and The Chipmunk Song was #1 for the last 2 weeks of the year. Leave it to Mommy to find a connection between Conway and the Chipmunks!

Better grab a cat to cuddle because this one's gonna make you cry your eyes out!

We hope you enjoyed our choices this week!
Let us know if you have a favorite!

Melissa & Mudpie,

The Chipmunks are so adorable - I love 'em! Your playset for today's theme is spot on and classic. I always liked 'The Teddy Bear Song' and it's been awhile hearing it. Have a blessed Thanksgiving with those you love, my furriends! Thank you for being good blog friends! xx

I didn't break down when I played "Teddy Bear." I thought it was a sweet song and it had a great ending. Nice set!

Great choice MP! I love the Chipmunks song. Did you know in the 70s or 80s they put out a country CD and a punk one. You can guess which one she bought. We actually shared one of the same songs but by a different artist.

Fantastic song choices! Now, don't mind me as I just sit over here singing The Chipmunks Song on repeat. Purrs!

Great song choices, Mudpie and Mom Melissa! Of course, now the Chipmunk Song is stuck in my head. :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

As adorable as the Chipmunks song is, there is that Sad Song Teddy Bear. Sometimes songs like that are just a bit fake but when I lived in Arkansas years ago I knew a number of truckers (it was a common way for people living out in the country, as I did, to make a living) and I can believe every word of that song.
