Since her portrait, paw print, and ashes rest on a table in the living room that gets moved to make room for the Christmas tree, I have to find a new spot of honor for her during the holiday season and create a special Christmas memorial area. Each year I've changed it a bit and this year I did a "winter wonderland" theme with various trees and cat glasses filled with Christmas balls.
The highlight of the table is two new pieces - a Star of Wonder votive from The Creative Cat and a battery-operated cat Christmas tree I found at HomeGoods. I may have gasped out loud when I saw it on the shelf a couple weekends ago, and heaven help anyone who may have been reaching for it the same time I was.
A photo really doesn't do justice to how beautiful it looks lit up at night...
Just below this table sits my portable air conditioner which I leave in place all year, so I decorated that too, sort of continuing the cat/tree theme...A photo really doesn't do justice to how beautiful it looks lit up at night...
On another note, on Monday we mailed our Secret Paws gift exchange package, and yesterday a HUGE box arrived for Mudpie. I usually make her wait until Christmas morning to open it but I told her *maybe* we can open it on Friday. She can hardly wait...and neither can I!

I love how you set up a special place to remember Truffles. <3
Such a sweet memory table.
What a beautiful way to remember Truffles for the holidays.
What a great way to honor the life and memory of Truffles.
That really is a most beautiful Angel memorial.
Melissa & Mudpie,
At Christmas time it's hard to not think about those we love who've gone on to heaven. I often think of my brother, as well as my grandparents. This year has been rough with the passing of two of my uncles' wives all within a month of one another. That was so sad and I know the holiday season has to difficult for them about now. I can't wait to read about Mudpie's secret paws gifts. It sounds so exciting! Meowy Hissssmas...I mean Christmas! :D
Very nice angel table. I have that same white cat
light. :)
What a lovely and special way to honor your beloved angel Truffles.
I love that you honor your sweet angle Truffles in this festive way. Your memorial area for her is absolutely beautiful. This will also be my fifth Christmas without my Rosie, and I try to make sure I keep her memory alive during this season as well. I have one extra special ornament for her, but it actually stays hung up in the house all year (out of the reach of certain kitties, of course). Mudpie, we're crossing our paws that your mom lets you open that secret package early!
What a beautiful setting and tribute to Truffles.
Taking a picture of your lovely votive lamp would be a challenge for anyone but I can imagine how lovely it is as it glows. Welcome to your beautiful Christmas Truffles.
