Mudpie's answers:

1. I am particular about the blankie in my KatKabin. It must be washed once a week and fluffed before I go in for a nap. If it's not I sit outside the door and wait until Mommy does it. I'm not like that with any of my other beds or blankies.

2. My favorite toy is an animal print mousie we've named Baby. I got it shortly after Mommy adopted me and she's always been worried I would lose it one day. She's never seen another like it until this month's cat show at one of the vendor tables. We're both very relieved that I now have a spare Baby!

Mommy's answers:

3. Have you ever heard of reel-to-reel tapes? They predate me by a number of years, but I'm interested in learning the history of various music formats. Last week on eBay I bought a reel tape that came from Conway's publishing company and I'm dying to know what's on it! The songs on it were recorded within a two-day period in 1972 and one of them is an unreleased track, so I have dreams that this may be a master recording or rare demo or something. Thankfully I have a good friend who has a reel player so it won't be a mystery for much longer!

4. Saying goodbye to Truffles is a moment I will never forget. Even after nearly 5 years that night seems surreal.

My dad had a reel to reel tape recorder that probably dated back to the 50s. Unfortunately, he got rid of it long ago, or it would be winging its way over to you!

1. We are fussy about our towels. Dad hunted down 6 identical bloo bath towels a few years ago. 2 go on the shoo rack for Ayla. 2 go on the lower shelves of the 4 shelf plant shelf for all of us. 1 goes on the recliner chair Dad hates. 1 hangs over a bookshelf as a kinna cave for us when we dont wanna be bothered. Bloo suits all of us.

2. We have 3 REALLY OLD mousies. Older than we are, in fact. Softie Mouse used ta be filled with NIP, but it is just a cloth shell now. Ayla loves it. The other are Bloo Mouse and Pink Mouse. They are just stuffed, but are easy to grab and carry around. Dad says there is a Purple Mouse somewhere in the house, but he hasn't seen it for years.

3. Dad grew up with reel tapes. They were awful, he says. Stretched, broke, slowed down, etc. As a child in the 50s, a friend of Grandad had a system that took up a full wall and had like 12" reels. And he played Frank Sinatra and jazz music on it... He was the "early adapter" of his time.

4. Beins never forget us... Dad says Skeeter was a "long gradual sad" but LC was a shock.

I was given a reel to reel recorder for my 12th birthday. All my friends used to come around to listen to it and record ourselves singing. As Mark's Mews said, they had a nasty habit of splitting and snapping. I remember mending it with sellotape which did no more than hold it together, so you lost the bit where it had split.
That is sweet art Mudpie.

Cute artwork, Mudpie. My Hope had one particular jingle ball she loved. Newer ones just weren’t right. Then, my daughter found some just like her favorite. Now, there are seven of them lost somewhere in this house! :)

More glorious artwork, dear Mudpie. Reel-to-reel, oh my goodness. Young'uns today likely don't even know what that means.

Beautiful art Miss Mudpie. Thank you both for these great fill-in answers. My hubby has a reel to reel. That is so cool that you have a reel with Conway, I hope it is a new song for you. Have a nice weekend! XO

That's a lovely art as we approach Valentine's Day.
I'm glad you found a spare toy. Losing your favorite would be no fun. Have you posted a photo of it on your blog? I'd like to see it.
My Dad had a reel-to-reel tape player. It's always interesting to go back and use some of the older technologies.

OMC Mom HAD reel-to-reel tapes. Now she feels REALLY OLD.

Great artwork and fill-ins. We know saying goodbye to Truffles was a very difficult thing to do.

Of course we've heard of reel to reel tapes. Pop used to have a deck and all his radio shows on the tapes. He called them air checks.
MP, psst, you always will love the original shmousy and will not even look at the spare. TW bought me some spare Furbies and you can bet I'll never touch them.
Nice art this week.

Mudpie, you're so lovely! And thank you both for joining in on the Friendly Fill-Ins! Mudpie, Evan is just like you when it comes to the blankets on the couch. He doesn't care how any other blankets or beds are placed, but if I don't have the couch's blankets how he wants them, he gets restless. And I think the first and last days with our furbabies are both ones that we'll never be able to forget. Purrs!
