January Retro Country Rewind #MewsicMovesMe

Last year we premiered our mewsic feature "Retro Country Rewind," a look back at favorite songs that hit #1 during that month from 30, 35, 40 plus years ago. We were so happy that you guys seemed to enjoy it! In this new year we'll be delving into #1 hits from 1970, 1975, 1980, and so on. Let's take a look at January for this freebie week in the Mewsic Moves Me blog hop...

45 Years Ago - 1975, The Door, George Jones

40 Years Ago - 1980, I'll Be Coming Back For More, T.G.Sheppard

35 Years Ago - 1985, Does Fort Worth Ever Cross Your Mind, George Strait

30 Years Ago - 1990, Nobody's Home, Clint Black

I don't have a particular favorite this month since there's no Conway in the mix, so let us know yours!

Melissa & Mudpie,

You pulled together some classic country artists. Of these, TJ Sheppard is a favorite. I reckon because he didn't have quite the twang as others in the genre. Sheppard used to live in or near Gatlinburg. He had a mewsic theater in the Pigeon Forge and even had a restaurant in Gatlinburg. His mewsic theater closed some years back but I'm unsure about the restaurant. According to Wiki Sheppard lives in Hendersonville, TN which is outside of Nashville. Thanks for joining the 4M crew on the dance floor with such a nice set of country artists & songs. Have a boogietastic week, my furriends!

We're at a loss without a Conway song to hear. Nonetheless, these are all fantastic examples of true country music. Purrs!

I used to work with a gal that thought Conway Twitty and George Jones were gods! No joke!

Anyway, loving the country this week and I like your meme too.

Without a doubt, George Jones. I'm not a country fan but I enjoy a good musical voice and his is a classic one. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
