The theme of this week's Mewsic Moves Me blog hop is "songs that tell a story."
Conway often described country songs as little 3 minute soap operas, so there's no better genre of music for story songs. This week's picks are a bit more contemporary than we usually choose, but we think we found some great ones.

Great choices! Country songs are great for telling stories.
You picked some great ones, Melissa! (I’m an Alan Jackson fan.) I love the picture, with Mudpie in the book, too.
Good tunes and a great picture book too!
You’re right, country is rich with storytelling. Great choices.
Very nice. Country is all about story telling.
I was wondering if anyone was going to use "Fancy." Reba's is excellent, but Bobbie Gentry's is my favorite (she wrote the song, after all). Good set!
That Alan Jackson song is so good! But I love Carrie Underwood too. Yeah I think Conway was right about c/w songs!
Yeah, fantastic choices, Mudpie. We especially love Alan Jackson's song. Country songs are always feel so deep. Thank you for the mewsic today😸Pawkisses for a Happy Monday🐾😽💞
What's the story behind the orangey in the picture ?
I agree that country music is all about telling stories, and of these, my favorite was "Fancy". Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

That Tim McGraw song makes me cry every time.
Melissa & Mudpie,
Some of the best story telling songs are by country artists and you shared some furtastic ones. I, especially love Alan Jackson's "Remember When". :) Thanks for sharing the 4M dance floor with us this week, my furriends! Have a boogietastic week!!
I have never heard the Conway quote about country songs being 3-minute soap operas, but that is so true. And the songs you picked are perfect examples of that. Purrs!
