Conway had a lot of songs with women's names in the title: Linda On My Mind, Rose, Julia, Georgia Keeps Pulling On My Ring, Burn Georgia Burn, Play Ruby Play, just to name a few. Julie was an album cut never released to radio but I wish it had been a single because it's such a tender, beautiful song. There's a vulnerability in the lyrics and in his voice that most men would be afraid to show.
A pair of all-time country classics...
I bet you didn't think I could incorporate Mudpie into this week's name challenge! The first time I heard this song on the radio a few years ago I couldn't stop laughing because I often call Mudpie either Mud or Miss Mud. Every now and then I sing part of the chorus to her. She's not amused.

I'm actually named after a Latin jazz song! You may not know it by name, but I'm sure you will recognize it once you listen for a few bars: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDKCeetf0NY
Georgia on my mind-Ray Charles.
Julie- Conway ;)
Purrs,Georgia and Julie
I had never heard “My Name is Mud”. I’m sure Mudpie is not amused. Ha ha!
We didn't think you'd come up with a song for Mudpie! Great selection! We're sorry we haven't been visiting. We mss you girls.
Those were good tunes and an absolutely beautiful photo sweet Mudpie!
You're not gonna believe it but "Amanda" is actually a song TW likes a lot. There's also a song "Amanda Ruth" by Rank & File that I think your human might like. Let's just say TW is "Cathy's Clown." MOL!
WOW Miss Mudpie, there is a song for you :) XO
Great list! I forgot about most of these...
Aww such a cute kitty!
Hey, I know that song, Miss Mud! :)
I love that you picked the song "My Name Is Mud"! My dad played this song for me years ago, and I found it incredibly intriguing. Mudpie, do you think this is a good theme song for you? Purrs!
I'm named after the Greek Goddess Athena but there is a song called Athena by the Who that we've used in our Mewsic post this week (if you haven't seen it).
I was named after my father's mother, and four of my cousins are, too (three of them have the same first name, which is different from mine.) The only song I knew of your set was Dolly's. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
Mudpie,
Nope, I haven't forgotten you. I'm just late to making my rounds this week. Porter Wagoner is a name from the past. I remember my parents loved watching him on TV. I don't know if there are any songs of his that I can say that I'm crazy over but he's legendary in the country industry. I love Dolly! She's an East Tennessee gal, too! Thanks for sharing the dance floor with me today and again, I'm sorry for being so late. Have a good weekend, dearie!
