Each week, at least one of your choices brings back such memories! I love the “old” country.
M&M,
It's great having you on the dance floor today with your 'Retro Country Rewind' song picks. "A Lesson In Leavin'" played frequently on the radio in 1980. It was more rock than country sounding to my ears than country and might be one of the first country pop hits that I recall. I'm sure I'm not remembering right, though. 'Is Anybody Goin' to San Antone' I remember from my youth. It's refreshing to hear many of your weekly picks because it reminds me of my childhood. I guess I had forgotten how much country mewsic played in my early years. Be safe and well. Have a boogietastic week, my dear! Sending to you hugs, love, & prayers! xx
We sure enjoyed your tunes and your photo is sure beautiful sweet Mudpie!
Fantastic tunes! I always enjoy when you share John Schneider songs. His voice is so soothing. Well wishes!
Very classic songs. Thanks for sharing them.

Wow, I know I'm not a big country fan, but some of the tunes are really beautiful. I forgot how nice a voice Merle Haggard has. There are many country stars that I like & many tunes, but I cannot say I'm totally country. I will tell you this my dad loved country like I do and he liked a gentleman name Webb Price. I bet you know who he is. He made a song that went... Sparkling Brown Eyes - Webb Pierce (repeat 2x)... I'll never love blues eyes again and when I was little he use to sing that to me and the love from my heart would overflow. Oh and yes, I was a daddy's girl. Miss him...
Stay healthy my friend & stay home. Hugs
I forgot John Scheider was a singer too.
i did not know that John Schneider sand! Love it!
Oh, Mudpie, you brought in wonderful songs, the last one is our eye...eh...earcatcher. What a beautiful voice Charlie Pride has. I can't remember ever heard of him🤔Thanks for the distance dance😸Clean Pawkisses for a Happy Tuesday. Stay Safe Healthy and Yourselfie🙏🐾😽💞
Such a great feature for some of us a little late to the country music party :)
Never heard of them but nice tunes!
No CT this week? TW remembers that Charlie Pride cover from the Columbia Record Club.
Our mom LOVES John Schneider! Our mom grew up on Merle Haggard and Charlie Pride.
I can enjoy being exposed to how country has changed over the years, given that I am not familiar with any of these songs. My childhood was 100% rock. To me there is a world of difference between Charley Pride and the newer songs. The newer songs are more like rock. Charlie Pride, though, has a fantastic voice. Better than Conway Twitty? Well, it's not mine to judge. No Conwa Twitty songs this week? You couldn't have run out, lol. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
