The theme of this week's Mewsic Moves Me blog hop is "angels" in song titles or lyrics.
I couldn't decide between two Conway songs this week so I'm using them both. Anyone surprised? This first one he wrote, and I think even non-country music lovers will enjoy it. Make sure you listen all the way through because there's a bit of a twist in the story at the end.

This song is likely to bring a tear to the eyes of most parents out there. No doubt Conway recorded it for his own children, 3 of whom are in the picture that accompanies the video.
I practically never use modern-day country songs in these posts, but this one is an exception.
My favorite line...I'd die for her and she lives for me.
I had the opportunity to meet John Michael Montgomery on his bus back in 1995 in Malone, New York. His brother Eddie, half of Montgomery Gentry, was the one who took our photo!
A country classic from 1985...
I didn’t know any of those songs. Nice playlist.
ReplyDeleteM&M,
ReplyDeleteYou shared almost all new-to-me 'angel' songs. The only one I know is Barbara Mandrell's 'Angel In Your Arms' hit. Have a boogietastic week and please stay well, my furriends! xx
There is nothing wrong with posting two Conway tunes!!! I post Dwight Yoakam every chance I get. Some nice songs here. Barbra Mandrell is certainly a blast from the past and one of my favorites. This song sounds a little like Reba. John Michael Montgomery was always easy to listen to. Thanks for sharing a country set today. Have a blessed week.
ReplyDeleteSo very beautiful and classic songs. Thanks for sharing them.
ReplyDeleteThese were some great choices!
ReplyDeleteThat was a real sad song of Conway and indeed some unespected ending, we're glad you put them both in. Great songs, Mudpie we only knew the Cowboys and Angels😸Clean Pawkisses for a Happy Monday. Stay Safe Healthy and Yourselfie🙏🐾😽💞
ReplyDeleteCowboys & Angels by Dustin is my favorite of these. Tells a great story & has a neat video too. Very nice choices my friend. YOU TOTALLY ROCK! Hope you had a good time too and I want you to stay healthy & safe and stay close to home.... don't forget your mask too!!!

ReplyDeleteWorld of Animals
Not surprised at all :)
ReplyDeleteThose were really good Angel tunes and such a beautiful photo sweet Mudpie!
ReplyDeleteMupdie, did Conway teach you to do that smoldering gaze? Then again, that probably just comes naturally for a kitty as gorgeous as you. Fantastic angelic song choices!
ReplyDeleteThe late great John Prine had a song "Angel from Montgomery." He did the kind of country music my peeps like.
ReplyDeleteAll these songs (of course) were new to me. The first Conway song did have an unexpected twist - my favorite of the set was Barbara Mandrell. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
