Last year we premiered our mewsic feature "Retro Country Rewind," a look back at favorite songs that hit #1 during that month from 30, 35, 40 plus years ago. We have so much fun gathering the songs for it month and hope you enjoy our selections.
This month we're getting an early start because we have an extra special anniversary to celebrate in a couple weeks. Until then, let's take a look at June for this freebie week in the Mewsic Moves Me blog hop...
35 Years Ago - 1985, Don't Call Him A Cowboy, Conway Twitty
Conway's 50th #1 record hit the top of the country charts 35 years ago today.
This song was written in response to the Urban Cowboy craze, but is probably best known for its double entendres!

Oh yeah, Linda!
ReplyDeleteSome very nice and classic songs.
ReplyDeleteAs always, great set. Linda Ronstadt had a tremendous voice that MS took from her, sadly. I had always heard that Eddy Arnold had a great voice but never heard him before now.
ReplyDeleteThose were all really good ones sweet Mudpie!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I haven't heard these in so long. Eddy Arnold... my mom use to play his albums all the time. Thanks for opening up a wonderful memory for me. I sure do miss my mom! Thanks girlfriend. Great tunes and you've rocked the house for sure!
ReplyDeleteThe only one I recognize is When Will I Be Loved? :)
ReplyDeleteM&M,
ReplyDeleteNot being a huge country mewsic fan I can honestly say the only song I know in your post is "When Will I Be Loved" and I guess that's only because Linda was more of country rock artist in those days to register with me. :) Have a boogietastic week, my dear! xx
Mudpie, we are loving these selections of tunes that you shared with us. We loved the Linda Ronstadt song. What a beautiful song. Thanks for sharing. Have a pawsome rest of your week.
