A couple weeks ago for our "Best of Mudpie" series leading up to my 5th Gotcha Day in August we told you about the day I got my all-time favorite toy, an animal print mousie we lovingly refer to as Baby.
Life with Baby was nearly perfect for a year until tragedy struck. Late one night when Mommy went to bed Baby and I were playing in the living room. I was picking her up in my teeth, tossing her in the air, not a care in the world. The next morning we woke up to find her face down in my water bowl.
Photo recreation minus the water
She had sopped up every last ounce of water in the bowl. She was saturated! Apparently I had bopped Baby into the water while playing and then gone off to bed. Mommy said I wasn't a very responsible caretaker, but I think I was in shock.
We ended up having to hang her all by herself inside the screen door where I couldn't get to her, and I spent the day howling and searching for her in the bathroom...
Don't we make a cute couple? Our colors even match!
Wow, that was a traumatic event!
ReplyDeleteOur Maurice used to like to float his toys in the water. Glad Mousy survived her almost-drowning.
ReplyDeletePurr-ecious!
ReplyDeleteThank goodness your Mommy was able to save Baby! What a traumatic event!
ReplyDeleteWe are so happy your Baby was saved and recovered from the water bath!
ReplyDeleteThat must have been a stressful time. A nap together is the best thing ;)

Good thing that Baby was resuscitated, Mudpie!
ReplyDeleteI love a happy ending. Your mom did a good rescue job here. I hope you give her some extra love.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.
Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend. My best to your mom. ♥
I'm so glad it all worked out sweet Mudpie. Simon would put most of his toys in the water bowls if we didn't keep an eye on him.
ReplyDeleteOMC we're glad that was a happy ending. Raz did the same thing with his red mousie the other day.

Poor Baby! I am glad she made a full recovery.
ReplyDeleteIf Eric or Flynn caught a shrew they would never eat them but always threw them in the outdoor rainwater drinking bowl. I think they must have been too bitter to eat.
So glad Mom was able to save Baby so you could snuggle together again !
ReplyDeleteHappy ending! Have a lovely day!
ReplyDeleteThat was a cute story. Glad you got your favorite toy back.
ReplyDeleteThank Cod Mommy knew those lifesaving techniques, Mudpie!
