As I sit here typing this Isaias is knocking at our door, predicted to pass right over my town. I'm worried sick about a repeat of Halloween when we got 4" of rain and my basement had tons of water in it. I've replaced my window well covers and have the wet vac plugged in, ready to go, hoping to not get caught off guard this time. It's been such a long day just waiting for the storm to arrive, I can't wait until it's outta here!
Storms like this with heavy rain are one more reason I *hate* summer. Give me a good ol' snowstorm anyday!
UPDATE: Thankfully by the time the storm reached northern Vermont it was losing steam. We got over 2" of rain throughout the day and into the evening but it was nowhere near as bad as I feared. On the plus side, we got a fabulous north wind blowing through!

Your heartfelt words hit home. As a summer person I am lucky I don't have your challenges and I like the warm but it's not like your warm or hot AT ALL.
I love your gift, how sweet to have such a friend. Ellen sent Harvey a Toothfair gift and he and I were so proud.
I am glad you are safe. Stay well you two.
I'm glad the storm wasn't too bad for you! Those are lovely gifts from the 15 and Meowing human!
Ooooooo! Pawsome goodies for you two.
That pink fishie looks like it will be fun to play with.
Glad to hear that the storm fizzled ;)

What fun gifts you got! And we're glad the storm wasn't too bad.
The storm pretty much fizzled for us (which we're okay with). We only got 1/4 inch of rain here in Florida.
What great gifts!

Nice gifts! Glad the storm lost steam.
Dodged a bullet, I'd say!
Mudpie, Sweetie ADORES her Ellen fishy toy too; in fact, I sleep with it almost every night, because she really likes to bring her toys to bed!
Those were fun goodies! Glad the storm wasn't too bad for you, we got really lucky here.
Those are some awesome goodies Mudpie so you send Ellen a thank you note. Glad you were safe
glad to hear the storm passed you by!! And i think Christmas in July sounds like a fantastic idea
Those gifts are great, Mudpie. We are glad the storm was not so bad for you and Mom. We had a bunch of damage and a lot of power outages here in our area. But we personally only lost power for 5 hours, thank goodness.
We love Grumpy Cat too! Those socks look adorable.
Thanks for sharing this Christmas in July post. The footie socks look so cute. Mudpie, we hope you are having a great time with your new fishie. Have a great day.

What purrfect Christmas in July gifts! Grumpy Cat is our hero. And aren't Ellen's crocheted fishie so much fun, Mudpie? Now that we've celebrated Christmas in July, can it just be autumn and Halloween already? And we're so glad the storms weren't too bad for you! Purrs!
Thank you for the shout out. I am glad you both liked your gifts. I will tke snow anytime too> XO
