December is all about Christmas in the Mewsic Moves Me blog hop, so we decided to get a jump start out the month with our "Retro Country Rewind" feature, a look back at favorite songs that hit #1 during that month from 30, 35, 40 plus years ago...

While mum is not a big fan of country music, she has heard those songs.
Purrs, Julie
Coal Miner's Daughter and Convoy sure brought back memories!

Some great country tunes here. Alabama was the leader of the pack in country/southern rock of the 70's. I always liked the sound of Earl Thomas Conley. Thanks for the memories.
Good choices and darn good tunes!
Such a very nice and classic playlist.
I remember these! Thanks for the walk down memory lane Mudpie!
Coal Miner's Daughter is one of my favorite movies.
Great songs today! My kind of country music!
Our HuMom still has Why Lady Why on a mix CD in her car...
Coal Miner's Daughter has always been one of my favs!
It was nice to hear Loretta when she was young! What a fantastic hit & a movie too! All time great! WOO HOO! CONVOY... My Daddy was a trucker & when I hear this tune I think of him. Man, I sure miss him a lot. Alabama they have such great harmonies & tunes too. Your other songs are great too. Great job my friend. Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving!
I just love Loretta Lynn's voice. Thank you for yet another fantastic concert!
One in a Million is one of my favorite country songs. Great choices, as always, Mudpie and Mom Melissa!
As someone who doesn't often listen to country music, I still enjoy the story of Loretta Lynn. Convoy was a crossover hit into the rock world and it's a staple of my mid 70's mental playlist. But what intrigued me was Earl Thomas Conley. I enjoyed that video that told us some of his story. Absolutely had never heard of him. Also new to One in a Million and it was nicely mellow. Altogether, I enjoyed all the songs this week. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
