A Christmas Memory: Wrapping Gifts with Truffles

Christmas is all about memories, making new ones while remembering days gone by.

Last week in our fill in answers I mentioned that wrapping gifts is my least favorite thing about the holiday season, but while browsing through old Christmas blog posts I stumbled upon this sweet scene from 2013 when it wasn't such a chore because of a very special helper, my Angel Truffles.

It was our first Christmas together (we only ended up having two), and as soon as I pulled out all the colorful paper and tags to settle in for an afternoon of wrapping she settled into her bed to supervise. She always loved crinkly papers so I think she had fun with all the noises I was making.

It was the most enjoyable time I'd had wrapping gifts in a very long time simply because she was there with me.

Do your cats enjoy helping with wrapping?
(Mudpie can take it or leave it...some years she helps, others she sleeps right through it!)

  1. Such a sweet memory. One of my cats likes the crinkle of the paper. The others are too lazy.

  4. If there is something that crinkles or rattles, every cat must come to investigate!

  5. You are a very good helper sweet Mudpie - I have to wrap gifts in the garage if I want them to look less shredded - MOL!

  6. Those are sweet memories and it is so nice our Angels are in our hearts for the holidays. This year was pretty quiet wrapping as we are all getting a bit older and nap more and Dad said it was easier but... not as much fun

  7. Samantha the Tortie was frightened by things like large rattling newspapers. Serena the Calico thought everything in a human's hand ought properly to be a cat toy--until she had kittens of her own, developed gravitas, and taught her kittens to mind the rules. (She still directs my attention to things we've agreed *are* cat toys, though.)

Has Mudpie officially endorsed any of the printable prezzies at Zazzle, yet? Zazzle actually pays higher commissions when we market other people's designs than when we market our own, so I'm asking Blogspot to tell me if Mudpie's and her friends' pictures are there.

  12. Awww, what a sweet memory of your dear Angel Truffles. Sure, I like to help with such things, but my way of "helping" is to sit on the crinkly paper. I see nothing wrong with that.

  14. Truffles was a fantastic helper. And yes, we help Mommy wrap. Although she doesn't appreciate it.

  15. Such a sweet memory. Evan helps me in the same way that Truffles helped you, by keeping me company and watching me. Tonks and Thimble are more paws-on helpers, and they try to take over and remove me from the gift-wrapping equation. Purrs and Merry Christmas!
