The theme of this week's Mewsic Moves Me blog hop is "February 1 is National Baked Alaska Day. It is also Candy-making Day, Candy Decorating Day and Dark Chocolate Day. So let’s have songs about “sweet” things."
Here's our eclectic playlist of songs with the word "sweet" in the title...
I'm probably going to surprise everyone by starting with some Conway gospel music. (Here's a little trivia for you...did you know he considered becoming a preacher as a teenager?) This song was recorded at First Baptist Church in Hendersonville, TN in 1981 with only an organ, to be played at his daughter's wedding. It was also played at his memorial service (which I have on DVD but have never watched and don't believe I'll ever be able to.) It was included in the box set that was released after his death.
How can I resist a song with my name in the title?
So far today we've covered gospel music, classic rock, now here's a bit of classic country...
We hope you enjoyed our "sweet" choices today...let us know if you have a favorite!
