Meows from Mudpie!
Last Monday morning Mommy noticed that I seemed to be having trouble with my left ear. I kept pawing and scratching at it, letting the ear droop and shaking my head. Her first thought was mites but couldn't imagine where I could've gotten them, plus I was only favoring the one ear. She came home from work and I was doing the same thing so she got a flashlight out to see if she could see anything obvious going on in there. It wasn't inflamed or smelly to indicate an infection and while it was a bit greasy/oily there was no dark discharge. She decided to see how it was on Tuesday.
Tuesday morning was much the same but I was acting completely normal otherwise, eating fine, just totally annoyed with my left ear. She started talking about calling the V-E-T that afternoon but decided to try cleaning my ear out with a cotton ball first. She didn't get much to show for her efforts but something must've worked because ever since then my ear has been perfectly fine!
It's been a week now and she's keeping an eye out for any signs that it's bothering me again, but so far, so good!
I hope your ear is okay now, Mudpie, and you don't have to go to the vet!

The volume on your earbuds was too high when you were enjoying Mom's Conway Twitty fave's while she was out-and-about ...
ReplyDeleteTone it down a bit girl! You can still dance to the music!
Ears to no Vet visit sweet Mudpie! Hope all stays clear!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad mom figured this out so you wouldn't have to go to the vet. I've never had a kitty that liked going to the vet.

ReplyDeleteThe wonder of the cotton ball, how terrific sweet Mudpie😸Pawkisses for a Happy Day🐾😽💞
ReplyDeleteWell Mudpie, I'm glad everything's cleared up, thanks to your mom and that cotton ball. Oh, and by the way- everything about you is purrfect!
ReplyDeleteWe're so glad you avoided the dreaded vet! The cotton ball was the best remedy.
ReplyDeleteMy Opie has the worst black ear crud, and has had it his entire 13 years, regardless of how much I clean. No mites, just black tar. Recently my sister told me she uses tea tree with an oil carrier on her dog who also has problem ears, and it works to keep his ears clean. I'm going to try it, but I'm told the tea tree needs the oil to carry it, otherwise it might be harsh. Kimberley Koz
ReplyDeleteNicely done, Mudpie...keep her guessing!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that whatever it was is gone now - and that your ear is feeling better!
ReplyDeleteWhen something minor is going on with me, all I have to do is hear the word vet and it gets better.
