It's been a couple years since we premiered our mewsic feature "Retro Country Rewind," a look back at favorite songs that hit #1 during that month from 30, 35, 40 plus years ago. This year we're delving into #1 hits from 1971, 1976, 1981, and so on. Let's take a look at July for this freebie week in the Mewsic Moves Me blog hop...
45 Years Ago - 1976, Teddy Bear, Red Sovine
40 Years Ago - 1981, Feels So Right, Alabama
40 Years Ago - 1981, I Was Country (When Country Wasn't Cool), Barbara Mandrell
35 Years Ago - 1986, Everything That Glitters (Is Not Gold), Dan Seals
35 Years Ago - 1986, Until I Met You, Judy Rodman
We hope you enjoyed our choices this month! Let us know if you have a favorite.
You've got some great pics here my friend. These tunes are awesome. Thank you for joining us and rockin' on. I haven't heard Barbara Mandrell in ages. Thanks for sharing. Be safe, be healthy and most of all just BE!!! HUGS
Omg, that tune about the little boy that's crippled is awesome. Thank you so much for that tune and the tears down my face. What an awesome story/record. THANKS SO VERY MUCH! IT WAS BEAUTIFUL. THANK GOD FOR ALL THOSE BEAUTIFUL TRUCKERS. My daddy was a trucker too! HUGS
What country classics you pulled out this week! I remember when Alabama was at the top of their A-game in the early 80s. A co-worker loved, loved them! I remember when Barbara Mandrell and her sisters hosted their own variety show in the late 70s. I wonder what these gals are doing today? Thanks for hitting the 4M dance floor country style. Have a boogietastic week, my dear!
Hey Mudpie!! These are so really excellent tunes that you shared with us. We love Alabama Feels So Right but they are good to us. Thanks for sharing. Have a beautiful rest of your week. World of Animals Mayfair
Not the sad Teddy Bear song. I can't bear to listen to that song (proving what a good song it is). Dan Seals was my favorite this month, followed by Barbara Mandrell. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

Nice array of music, Mudpie!
Time marches on, Mudpie. Great playlist.
Have a purrfect day and week, Mudpie. My best to your mom. ♥
I like all your choices. I saw Barbara Mandrell at The Big E in the 1980's.
Oh my, the Dad says he remembers all of those!
Does being in luv with John Denver count?
Mom Paula decided to go back to 1956 (her birth year) and the #1 country song was Heartbreak Hotel by Elvis Presley. We think that's pretty cool!
