Meows from Mudpie!
Many of the photos you see of me during the summer months are taken in the hall by our side door. It's one of my favorite places to hang out when it's hot. Strangely enough, Tara and Truffles loved it back there too. Must be a crazy tortie thing!
The problem is, when it gets humid the screen door has a tendency to pop open on its own, so Mommy always makes sure to keep the door latched.
Over the weekend Mommy was cat sitting for our neighbor, and Sunday afternoon she headed over to serve dinner. When she left the house I was napping on my pizza box in the kitchen. Knowing she was only going to be next door for a few minutes and the door hadn't acted up in ages, she didn't lock the inside door behind her.
You know where this is going, right?
She returned home, headed up the driveway, and immediately saw the screen door had popped open. "Oh God," she said out loud. Then a moment later she saw my little eyes peeping out from inside as if I was saying, "I don't think I'm supposed to be able to do this!"
Needless to say, I was praised uphill and downhill for being such a perfect little angel. (As if I didn't already know this.) She told me most cats would've taken advantage of the situation and gone out on an adventure, but I proved that I must really, really, really love her and never want to leave her.
Here's the truth: just a couple hours before Mommy had ordered a couple boxes of squeezies for me on Amazon. Why would I leave knowing that?!?!?!
Mommy sat down on the couch to finish having her heart attack, and I got on top of her feet and gave her a lecture on being a responsible cat mom!
We should also mention that Sunday, August 15th, was our 10th blogoversary, but Mommy spaced out and completely forgot!
That's kind of a biggie, Mommy...
I agree Mudpie! Why leave home when we are treated SO well.
ReplyDeleteWe are treated well, but we are curious too.
You are a responsible cat who knows that home is best.
After all, that is where mum and the treats are !!! MOL!
