The Wonders of Halloween #CaturdayArt

And now our weekly answers for the Friendly Fill-Ins challenge, hosted by 15andmeowing and Four-Legged Furballs!

Mommy's answers:

1. I wish I could train Mudpie to scoop her litter box. To be clear, scooping the litter box does NOT bother me at all. It drives me crazy when I hear people complaining about it. I always want to remind them one day that precious cat will be gone and you'll miss doing it. But Mudpie is relentless about scratching after she's gone potty, even scratching at the nearby furnace vent, so it would be a lot easier if she could just scoop it herself instead of waiting for me to come do it!

2. I am planning to get a Gone with the Wind calendar for my mom for Christmas. She must have at least 20 consecutive years in her collection now. (Thankfully the calendars are still be produced, unlike Hallmark who discontinued their GWTW ornament line thanks to cancel culture.)

Mudpie's answers:

3. I know it’s time to have a squeezie when we get up in the morning, Mommy comes home from work, and at bedtime. I have half of one each time...some days I manage to con her with my cuteness and get an extra :)

4. I felt brave when I accidentally ran out the front door years ago. Then I realized I wasn't in my house, freaked out, and ran right back in.

  1. I think this is the nicest yet. It also has a sea/oceanic look to it, that is what Mrs H first thought when she glanced over my shoulder. Beautiful colours, and you swimming amidst them all with a radient smile.

  2. Very festive artwork, dear Mudpie. Now onto that first comment- dad agrees wholeheartedly on the scooping thing. It's such a part of his every day for years and years and just part of being owned by a cat, but he shares that I seem to scratch, claw and attempt to demolish everything nearby when I'm done. He has regular jokes about me doing my demolition thing in my box, from clawing at the sides to yanking the swinging door right off its cheap plastic hinges. I just ignore him like always.

  3. I also do what my other favorite brovver called "Power flushing" when I use my potty box and scratch loud and long! It always makes mom and my brovvers smile while they happen to be here and I hit the potty. Mom put a textured rug outside on the floor right in front of my box. I can (not always) leave some serious litter on it. BUT she just picks up the rug twice a day and shakes it out the deck door.

  5. I love your Halloween art. Thank you both for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I try to limit Rosie to one squeezie spread out of the day, but she usually manages to start on a second one. I am glad you can get the calendar for your mom. XO

  11. More scary art! Very cool. Tell your mom you'll *consider* cleaning the box for X amounts of squeezies/day.

  13. I adore this frightfully festive masterpiece, Mudpie! And thank you both for joining in on the Friendly Fill-Ins! I really like how you answered #1. You are so right in that when our kitties are sadly no longer with us, we'll miss even the things like scooping their litter box. For me, though, I wish Tonks would scoop her own litter, because she spends an inordinate amount of time burying it, which often includes trying to use the nearest wall to bury it, and I'm usually just standing there waiting until she's done so that I can scoop it. I also find Tonks cute for this, though, so I don't mind too much. And we remember when you told us about running outside a few years ago, Mudpie, and we're so glad you ran back inside. There really is no place like home! Purrs!
