It's been a couple years since we premiered our mewsic feature "Retro Country Rewind," a look back at favorite songs that hit #1 during that month from 30, 35, 40 plus years ago. This year we're delving into #1 hits from 1971, 1976, 1981, and so on. Let's take a look at November for this freebie week in the Mewsic Moves Me blog hop...
50 Years Ago - 1971, Lead Me On, Conway & Loretta
45 Years Ago - 1976, Somebody Somewhere, Loretta Lynn
40 Years Ago - 1981, My Favorite Memory, Merle Haggard
35 Years Ago - 1986, That Rock Won't Roll, Restless Heart
35 Years Ago - 1986, You're Still New To Me, Marie Osmond & Paul Davis
One thing about music is that there is lots and lots of it to enjoy! While mum is more R&R, she is familiar with these artists. Happy Music Monday. Purrs, Julie
I never miss a chance to listen to Merle Haggard. I do like the old school country better than today's offerings, but I am also a fan of 80's/90's country that featured Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, Trisha Yearwood, Joe Diffie, etc. Thanks for sharing your playlist with us.
I like the concept of going through the decades. Hard to believe that 1986 was already 35 years ago! Restless Heart was my favorite, and the runner up was Marie Osmond. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
Restless Heart I liked back in the day but I don't think I listened to them a lot unless it was their hit songs. They have more of a rock country vibe is why I like them so much. :) Thanks for sharing your 'Retro Country Rewind' picks!
