January Retro Country Rewind (Part 2) #MewsicMovesMe

It's been a few years since we premiered our mewsic feature "Retro Country Rewind," a look back at favorite songs that hit #1 during that month from 30, 35, 40 plus years ago. In this new year we'll be delving into #1 hits from 1972, 1977, 1982, and so on. Let's take a look at part 2 of our January selections (since we found too many great songs for just one post) for this freebie week in the Mewsic Moves Me blog hop...

40 Years Ago - 1982, Red Neckin' Love Makin' Night, Conway Twitty

Mommy loves how her man is introduced in this clip!

40 Years Ago - 1982, The Sweetest Thing, Juice Newton

40 Years Ago - 1982, I Wouldn't Have Missed It For the World, Ronnie Milsap

55 Years Ago - 1967, There Goes My Everything, Jack Greene

We hope you enjoyed our choices this month!

Let us know if you have a favorite...

Melissa & Mudpie,

Great set of country tunes this morning. I, especially enjoyed listening to Juice Newton's 1982 hit, "The Sweetest Thing". It's been a long time since hearing it. Have a boogietastic week, furriends!

Holy crap. 1982 was 40 years ago? I feel so old. Then again, these songs make "old" look good!

Wow! There are some awesome classics here. Juice Newton is one of those much under appreciated voices of her day. I can barely remember Jack Green, but I do remember the song. Thanks for sharing a great line up of classic country. Well done.

You did a great job on this, Mudpie. I'm guessing mom helped a little.

Have a fabulous day and week, Mudpie. My best to your mom. ♥

I guess I agree with everyone else about your article. Definitely tunes will never die. My mama use to play these tunes in the house all the time, and sing all day long... God bless her. The tunes made her happy and therefore those tunes make me happy if only because they make me think of her and her smile. Hope you find a tune that does the same for you! Have a great day!

At the risk of disappointing the Conway fan I know you are, I would have to say Juice Newton. But Conway was a very close second. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

All these songs were new to us, Mudpie, we only knew the last song, but not of this singer. We have to look into Ronnie Milsap, I like his song😺Pawkisses for a Happy Weekend🐾😽💞
