It's been a few years since we premiered our mewsic feature "Retro Country Rewind," a look back at favorite songs that hit #1 during that month from 30, 35, 40 plus years ago. In this new year we'll be delving into #1 hits from 1972, 1977, 1982, and so on. Let's take a look at March for this freebie week in the Mewsic Moves Me blog hop...
55 Years Ago - 1967, Lonesome Fugitive, Merle Haggard
50 Years Ago - 1972, Bedtime Story, Tammy Wynette
40 Years Ago - 1982, Blue Moon with Heartache, Rosanne Cash
35 Years Ago - 1987, Baby's Got a New Baby, S-K-O
35 Years Ago - 1987, I'll Still Be Loving You, Restless Heart
Rosanne Cash is a pleasure to listen to. I did a feature on her in 2021 on the dance floor. I had to double check to refresh my memory if she's still touring and she is and her site has several albums. I'm glad she's still cranking out music. Restless Heart is one of my favorite country groups from the 80s. "I'll Still Be Loving You" was a big success stealing the #1 slot on the Hot Country Songs for a week but remained on the chart for 25 weeks. Thanks for sharing your song picks and joining the 4M crew on the dance floor, my furriend!
I like the tune by Roseann Cash! She has a really memorable voice. Thank you for all of the great music! -Purrs from your friends at www.PlayfulKitty.net

A wonderful playlist, Mudpie. Did you do these or did mom help?

Interesting to see Haggard in a coat and tie and clean-shaven. Good list!

Love the songs here. Very nice
ReplyDeleteMusic suits me too. I can sit on TBT shoulder while he listens to it. And I begin to understand the beat. ~. LORI
ReplyDeleteEh. 1987 was 35 years ago! Feels like yesterday! [and I feel old]
ReplyDeleteLook like a good list of tunes, Mudpie!
ReplyDeleteI love country music, but I have never heard any of these. I guess I wasn't into it back then.
ReplyDeleteNice picks, Mudpie and Mom Melissa. It's so hard to believe that Restless Heart song is 35 years old. Wow!
