April Retro Country Rewind #MewsicMovesMe

It's been a few years since we premiered our mewsic feature "Retro Country Rewind," a look back at favorite songs that hit #1 during that month from 30, 35, 40 plus years ago. In this new year we'll be delving into #1 hits from 1972, 1977, 1982, and so on. Let's take a look at April for this freebie week in the Mewsic Moves Me blog hop...

40 Years Ago - 1982, The Clown, Conway Twitty

The Clown is one of two songs (the other being The Rose) that made me sit up and take notice of Conway as a little girl in the mid '80s. I guess you could say he held my attention...

35 Years Ago - 1987, You've Got the Touch, Alabama

35 Years Ago - 1987, Kids of the Baby Boom, Bellamy Brothers

35 Years Ago - 1987, Rose in Paradise, Waylon Jennings

45 Years Ago - 1977, It Couldn't Have Been Any Better, Johnny Duncan

55 Years Ago - 1967, Walk Through This World With Me, George Jones

We hope you enjoyed our choices this week!
Let us know if you have a favorite.

I always like listening to your country picks. You refresh my memory of lost songs of yesterday and even introduce me to some that I missed altogether. Have a boogietastic week, my dear!

The only one I recognize is George Jones. I didn't get into country until the late 80's.
