It's a freebie week in the Mewsic Moves Me blog hop, so in honor of National Telephone Day we've chosen country songs about phones or phone calls...
Conway wrote this first song, and it turned out to be one of his and Loretta's biggest hits. It's a spoken word/sung duet, and when they recorded it Conway was in one room on the telephone while Loretta was in the recording booth. When they did the song live in concert one would be on stage, the other off stage, singing into telephones. It was even a #1 hit in South Africa!!!
We hope you enjoyed our choices this week!
Let us know if you have a favorite.

How cool to have these songs about the telephone!

Interesting theme for your playlist
Interesting. I didn’t remember the Conway and Loretta one.
"I'd Really Love To See You Tonight" is a great oldie! Thanks for hitting the dance floor this week, my dear. Have a boogietastic day! ;)
Fun theme. My favorite is I'd Really like to See You Again. I would also include Blake Shelton's Austin. :) XO
Love them all, Mudpie.
Have a purrfect day and week. My best to your mom. ♥
I call this a wonderful music list. My favorite was Callin' Baton Rouge. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
Just imagine if you could give Alexander Graham Bell a glipse into how important the telephone has become. There are dozens of songs about it! I really loved Calling Baton Rouge when I was younger. My dad always took me line dancing and that was one of the songs they would play. Great choices!

I like "I'd Really Love To See You Tonight," though it sounds a little weak without John Ford Coley. And Tanya Tucker and Reba McEntire? The best...
Awesome selections this week, Mudpie and Mom Melissa! Calling Baton Rouge is one of my favorite Garth songs of all time. :)
