It's been a few years since we premiered our mewsic feature "Retro Country Rewind," a look back at favorite songs that hit #1 during that month from 30, 35, 40 plus years ago. In this new year we'll be delving into #1 hits from 1972, 1977, 1982, and so on. Let's take a look at October for this freebie week in the Mewsic Moves Me blog hop...
55 Years Ago - 1967, I Don't Wanna Play House, Tammy Wynette
40 Years Ago - 1982, Put Your Dreams Away, Mickey Gilley
40 Years Ago - 1982, Close Enough To Perfect, Alabama
35 Years Ago - 1987, You Again, The Forester Sisters
35 Years Ago - 1987, Fishin' in the Dark, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band
Mudpie you certainly bring back the memories when we see that you and your mommy put out all these songs for us. You're looking good up there with that little cassette. I'm old enough to even remember the 8-track cassettes which were huge.
I remember Tammy Wynette's hit. It used to make me so sad to hear this song play when I was a little girl. Alabama got a lot of play time on the radio in the 80s. My then good friend and work buddy loved them! Being able to listen to music at work was a nice perk and it certainly made the day more productive. Have a boogietastic week, furriends!
It's always interesting to see music styles change over the years, and your Rewinds do just that. For me, it was a tie between the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and the Forester Sisters. Purrs to you both and give my regards to your Grandma. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

I am familiar with most of the singers, but none of the songs. :)

Those were fun ones and I haven't thought of The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in ages, cool.
Not our music, but we love that you enjoy yours so much!
