Meows from Mudpie!
When it's too hot to cuddle, I enjoy hanging out by (or sometimes on) Mommy's feet so she can't take off on me. It makes us happy to just be near each other. Sometimes I get lucky and score an extra squeezie too ;)

Today we have some flashback video for your viewing pleasure!Meows from Mudpie!
You know how I've had a pizza box on the kitchen floor for two years now, and I still hang out on it every single day so Mommy doesn't have the heart to pick it up?
Well, she's been buying some records for a friend in the UK. (It's cheaper for her to buy them and ship them to him all at once, than for him to buy them individually.) Friday night she opened up a package and laid everything out to send him a picture of what had arrived, and as soon as I saw the record mailer I hopped on board.
Guess what? Nearly 48 hours later it's still on the floor next to the pizza box, and I'm still using it!
MOL...Mommy has to tread very carefully across the kitchen!

As we discussed in our Mewsic Moves Me blog post this week, Monday was the 30th anniversary of Mommy's beloved Conway Twitty's passing.
Mommy is co-administrator of a Facebook group dedicated to Conway & Loretta, and she had lots of special tribute posts planned for that day. For one she was trying to record a video using audio from one of the many concerts she has on CD. I was snoopervising (and teasing for a squeezie). Finally I got impatient and meowed. Mommy didn't think I was loud enough to be captured on the video, but when she played it back, there I was.
At first she thought about re-recording the video, but then she decided against it. In fact, she says she's never going to erase the video from her phone because it's so adorable. Me and Conway, the four-legged and two-legged loves of her life, singing a duet. Or maybe I was auditioning for work as a backup singer?
Check it out at 36 seconds in, right after Conway sings no one will ever know...

There's never a dull moment at our house. Last week we noticed some scary looking swelling and redness on my Grandpa's arm. Mommy decided to take him to the doctor before the long weekend started, and it's a good thing she did because it was cellulitis. The doctor said it could've gotten out of hand really fast. Grandpa got some strong antibiotics that have made him feel pretty yucky, but thankfully at his follow-up appointment on Tuesday the doctor said it was looking a lot better.
Grandpa is so fragile. This has been his third round of antibiotics for various ailments in just the last 5 weeks. Mommy says if I ever scratched him (which I would never do, I've never scratched anyone) he would probably either spring a leak or fall apart!
In spite of my purrfection, would you believe I got in trouble on Tuesday morning?!?!?! I was looking out the bedroom window, and then had a notion to take a flying leap onto one of Mommy's boxes of Conway records! She was pretty surprised because I don't jump very much anymore, but I was told in no uncertain terms that I needed to get down. I would think she'd be impressed that at nearly 10 years old (and more than a little overweight) I'm still pretty agile!
Mommy makes mistakes too. Yesterday she decided to put in our portable air conditioner since the hots have arrived. In order to get the storm window and ladder in and out of the garage door she had to move Grandpa's rollator out of the way. She came back into the house, closed the garage door from the kitchen, and heard...CRUNCH.
She closed the garage door on the rollator and broke the handlebar off. After unsuccessfully trying to glue and duct tape it back on, she was able to order a replacement handlebar online. For that we're super thankful because Grandpa can't get around without it, but Mommy really beat herself up over doing something so stupid.
